This is a mono black deck that is essentially built for multiplayer games (preferably free-for-all). Maralen's "players can't draw cards" ability is very good control, and although you give them a tutor, you will find that Maralen being your commander makes perfect sense (because you can't exile commanders). I've had games where it comes down to me and one other player, and I just have to cast Maralen every turn from the command zone to fish out all the removal in that player's deck. If they choose not to remove her, you get a tutor as well, and there are a lot of really great things to tutor for in this deck. One very good card in the deck is Strionic Resonator because you can copy the tutor (or the lose 3 life if you need the damage more), and you can also copy the trigger on Omen Machine (a perfect card for this deck archetype).
