I would say it failed, but definitely my fault there. I got a turn 6 kill but I feel like I must have did something wrong, I thought I was a great deck builder than I see this. Good Job!

I think this needs a lot more tutor effects. There are just too many combo pieces to be consistent. I often found myself waiting to draw the last piece for 2-3 turns. It's an awesome deck idea but I couldn't get it to go off. I'd say 4-8 more tutors would serve it well.

Good luck!

Thanks! I totally agree with you and I find that happens for me sometimes too. Any suggestions for another low mana tutor?

Sadly, I am strictly a modern player and so I have no idea. Legacy is too expensive and I have only been playing for a few months, so it's way out of reach for me.

Diabolic Tutor could work because of the ramp you have, but I'd rather use the ramp for the combo than the tutor. Yeah, I have no idea. Sorry.

No problem. Yeah I mostly play Modern too, this is my first Legacy deck after a long break from the format. Most of the good low cast tutor cards are banned in Legacy unfortunately. I considered using Gamble but I don't like the random aspect. I run Spoils of the Vault which has been a godsend but it also has killed me on many occasions. I felt like Diabolic Tutor is too high for the deck because it usually relies on the ramp to get the combo off early. I will consider maybe tossing in a couple copies though and see if it works out.

Yeah, I wouldn't use Diabolic Tutor. It barely sees play in modern, so I'd say it's nearly useless in Legacy. There's much better out there. Try starting a forum on deck help or legacy forum. They're very useful and will get you help from a lot of much more qualified people. Good luck!

What if they T1 Thoughtseize your combo piece, or FoW your combo? You seem pretty defeated if it fizzles out. How do you recover?

Round 1 FoW is trouble, but I can bring in Pact of Negation from the sideboard and I use Duress against counterspells when needed. I have recovered from those situations using Spoils of the Vault to find combo pieces and digging with Faithless Looting which I have even used Entomb to fetch for extra looting digs. Blue is the hardest matchup for the deck by far though, but I expect that to be common place in Legacy.

Nearly every Tier 1 Legacy deck runs blue and definitely FoW. I'd suggest finding room for a playset of FoWs.

I've playtested a lot against those decks becaue they are very common in T1 like you said and it holds up better than it would seem. I've even overcome double FoW threatening win con with Pact of Negation and Spoils of the Vault.

If you're getting killed by Spoils of the Vault too often, Plunge into Darkness may be a better choice.

Excellent suggestion!! I had originally considered that card early on and it would actually be a great fit in the deck now, i will find a way to work it in. Thanks!

My one problem with this deck is that I would always get everything right by turn 3 at least... and then not have or have a way to get Shallow Grave. I don't know how you could fix this though.

Love the deck, I've always known Master of Cruelties had a home somewhere. However, if you don't take the first turn this deck runs into serrious trouble. Playtesting it against a few of my own, I was often foiled by by something like Spell Pierce or Swords to Plowshares or once even by a single Zombie token. I think just replacing all the Probes with the Pact of Negation already in your sideboard would solve this problem and help you take down more competetive decks. Besides, Who cares whats in their hand if you can counter it for free and then go on to win on turn 1?

Thanks for the feedback! That's an excellent point and a great suggestion, I will definitely give that a try.

just throwing this out there, I was play testing this over and over again and what I've found and you probably have noticed it too, is that it is an extreme glass cannon and you are pretty much done for if they have any force of wills in hand to start off with or even a daze. that being said, your deck either goes off turn 1 maybe 2 or it loses. any thoughts of what to do if someone has something like leyline of the void as a sb card? I run reanimator and I found the only way to truly deal with control was to run a black blue reanimator with show and tells mainboarded as well. that being said, your combo is very enjoyable when it does go off, however it seems that it misses turn one much more than it goes turn one.

It's definitely a glass cannon deck amd I don't think that I could change that without altering the pace of the deck significantly. Leyline of the Void and Leyline of Sanctity are both a problem for the deck and I used to splash white for removal but since have started using Chaos Warp as my answer to those thing, a little unconventional I know especially because of the speed but I've found that even with the faster option it wasn't going to happen right away anyways.

Street Wraith for more dig? Basically a Gitaxian Probe minus the telepathy effect

I'd love to put that one in there except if it goes in GY first then I can't Shallow Grave the Master of Cruelties

If it goes to GY first, Master of Cruelties goes top of it and you can shallow grave for it.

Can I ask a question about sideboarding?

So perhaps you could break down what you take out of the deck when siding in your cards.

I own all the pieces to this deck and I find myself screwed over the choice of what to remove in sideboarding. as far as I can see your choices are limited to probe and spoils. but that nerfs your consistency doesn't it? As I said a description of your sideboarding process would be really handy for anyone trying to pilot this deck. +1 man, great play :D
