Crush to win! Play early value creatures like Augur and Oracle to ramp and dig out some card advantage while using spells like Peer and cheap cantrips like Quicken and Manamorphose to find and enable a surged Crush of Tentacles. When that's done with, squish your opponent under some raw card advantage by replaying your value creatures (and, of course, by hitting them with 8/8 octopi).

Tricks:

Search for Tomorrow grabs the useful land for an early crush while contributing [for free!] to the one spell cast this turn surge condition.

Slaughter Pact is a great card on its own and is even better as a free spell to trigger surge and stop your opponent from getting that one pesky creature. It can also be played without swamps on board thanks to Manamorphose. (Just don't mess up your triggers!)

All those cantrips can draw Crush out of nowhere and turn the game on its head! Quickened Crush is particularly backbreaking.

Druid's deliverance helps survive the early game and later represents a free 8/8! Don't forget it doesn't prevent damage to creatures so you can use your new octopus friend to eat an attacker. Don't hesitate to hold on to spares if you know you're about to land that surge.
