I've been wanting to make a deck revolving around cards like Tainted Remedy and Grove of the Burnwillows for as long as I've been playing magic, but unfortunately there aren't any commanders that really lend itself to that strategy. Additionally, I felt like to truly capitalize on this archetype, the deck requires something from every color but blue, limiting my choices even further. Therefore, after asking my friends to rule zero it, I've whipped up my ideal (yet hopefully balanced) commander, as well as a batch of custom cards that further support the strategy, similar to a precon that Wizards might release.

There are 11 new custom cards in the deck

Zaqiel, the Purifying Flame: The face commander and the card in which most of the deck is built around. I wanted an activatable Tainted Remedy that I could turn on or to allow my opponents to gain life if needed. Additionally, I felt like these colors, as well as this strategy, make sense with some sort of repeatable graveyard recursion, as most of the lifegain spells are instants/sorceries.

Embra, Prancing Wildfire: The alternate commander, and one that doesn't seem to be related at first. However, the ability to target all opponents with single target spells allows cards like Heroes' Reunion to become much more useful in multiplayer. His ability to search for new lands after sacrificing can help with mana fixing and even ramp you after fetching.

Sisters of the Burnwillow: An additional source of Grove of the Burnwillows effects, and some explosive ramp. Cost feels too cheap especially but unsure.

Lambholt Moontender: Self explanatory draw enchantment that triggers when your spells/abilities give opponents life. Something I felt was needed and relavent/

Solstice Revelries: More card draw, meant to be used if you are ahead on life. Can also be a damage spell when combined with Tainted Remedy effects.

Piper of the Abyss: Likely the most broken of the cards I've made. Acts as a final piece of redundancy for the commander, but doubled. Additionally can enable lifegain through granting lifelink to any creature. I felt that I needed one more source of this effect but am open to cutting/editing this card.

Relinquare: One more card draw enchantment, this one triggering on opponents losing life, but also punishes you by making you lose that same amount of life on repeated triggers.

Apprentice Fire Mage: An efficient removal piece for smaller creatures, as well as an initial burst of damage with the elemental. Also puts lands in the graveyard if needed.

Dragon’s Soul Channeler: A card that punishes life gain and produces bodies, as well as acting as a finisher if you have enough of them and Delirium. Was not sure how to cost this though I'm leaning towards it being too cheap.

Court of Argoth: Land recursion and a possible wincon if you have enough lands. Monarch source as well.

Kami of Nature’s Will: Graveyard hate, artifact/enchantment removal, and lifegain all rolled into one, small package. Hopefully not too efficient.
