Sideboard

Approach of the Second Sun combos really nicely with Approach of the Second Sun. Win-con #1.

.

The gameplan is to survive as long as possible. Learn what damage can be taken, learn when to fog. Learn what decks have things that need to be Cast Out, and when it can be cycled.

.

Fevered Visions is the most important card in the deck. It refills your hand with Fogs, and it keeps pressure on opponents without actively doing anything. against decks holding lots of kill spells for your many creatures and few for your enchantments, it's Win-con #2. Don't let it get Fragmentized, and know in what matchups its ok to play it on turn 3. You WILL be vulnerable that turn if you play it, and if that's from certain decks it might be lethal.

.

New Perspectives is a super fun way to speed you to your win-con, and its always fun to play it when tapped out. Then suddenly cycle things like Shefet Monitor and Vizier of Tumbling Sands to play another fog- but be careful of the number of basic lands left for the lizard. I've screwed myself trying to gamble with perspectives and then realized I have no lands to tutor for.

.

I need to figure out the best sideboard plan, I'm not used to playing standard. aggressive stuff like vehicles and exert usually cant see through the fog effects, and I can try to play around countermagic. however, I can't win after a Lost Legacy targeting the win-con, and im not sure the best way to deal with planeswalkers. I'm considering deadlock trap for walkers, but keeping up the energy is tough.

.

Zulaport Cutthroat will kill me. easy. theres no stopping it. It pays to know what cards will bypass the defensive fogs so you can either hold a Cast Out ready, or use Gideon's Intervention.

.

Hahahahaa so I've been testing this thing against random stuff on tappedout. I can beat the best mardu vehicles pretty consistently, but theres so many close calls. Its a real nail biter trying to get just one more fog. Loads of fun. Anyways, I was just testing a new burn deck. Two turns in I discovered a certain card... Insult. It literally makes the deck worthless. if the opponent plays too many mountains, Gideon's Intervention naming insult asap. even then, theres not much to do against burn decks. Repel the Abominable kinda works, but with half the burns being instants that can be played on your turn, it takes twice as many repels and you only run 4 that will work. I guess I'll need to add counterspells to the sideboard...
