This is a homebrewed deck that went competitive. It originated as a life gain deck using Rhox Faithmender and Serra Avatar but grew to a more competitive level into it's current deck list. It still has an excessive amount of life gain, ending most of it's games well above 40 life (or well above 20 against R/B aggro).

There are a few cards in the deck just for other control matchups, easily noticeable too.

Jace, Memory Adept can help mill an opponent out. This is especially useful against Jund and America Control. Neither deck has a way to recover from this. Against everyone else, he is pure card advantage granting me extra cards (sometimes 20 cards to give myself a perfect hand).

Elixir of Immortality provides not only extra life, but provides re-usable resources. Against control each resource is invaluable. I can get all my board wipes, counter spells and lost creatures back. Paired with sphinx's revalation I'll see them all again shortly after too.

Cavern of Souls is there to put a dead stop in U/W flashe's tracks. I only run two creature types which makes the choices easy. Alchemist's Refuge also makes life hell for U/W flash, Jund and any other control deck that runs mostly at sorcery speed. U/W flash cannot handle me flashing in a Thragtusk at te end of their turn. They're forced to counter then, which allows me to cast more stuff during my turn.

Sigarda, Host of Herons is the latest addition putting in the most work of all the creatures. She is incredibly difficult to deal with. She survives an overloaded Mortars and can handle Olivia like it's no big deal. She dies only to board wipes and clone effects.
