Ugh, I hate hate hate Scion of Vitu-Ghazi (can't stop opening them irl), but I can't argue with 5cmc for at least 6 p/t...

Also keep in mind we're now passing packs in the opposite direction (the norm).

well, before i vote, are we going to splash red or black or both? i'm leaning toward Kraul Warrior just because we don't have any 1 or 2 cmc creatures which could really hurt us. otherwise, i would say the scion as well

+1 Scion of Vitu-Ghazi and hope the gatekeeper cycles back around.

Populate deck go!

We can worry about 2 drops when there aren't useable rares in the pack.(Also, what's up with all the Orzhov Guildgates we've seen)

they're disappearing. which means we have what, 3 packs to see a tithe drinker?

Still useful. I've won plenty of games with nothing but a swarm of pigeons

Doubt anything will upstart Scion in the time we have left. Submitting.

That Scrivener is really tempting. A much needed early drop with a possibly relevant upside...

then are we going red or black?? maybe we should try to splash both... we don't have much early game creatures which allows us to ramp and mana fix with cluestones i guess...

Here's the thing about black. We'll see it in this pack, but I highly doubt we'll see it in the next pack (like how we saw blue in the last pack but are probably not going to see a ton of blue in this pack).

In terms of a 2 drop the Boros Mastiff is a better aggro choice. Sure, Blood helps us when we don't have a hand, but generally that late I'm not so sure I want my topdeck to be a 2 drop 2/1 in the first place.

Either the Boros Mastiff or the Rubblebelt Maaka.

We won't see that Mastiff again, we might see that Maaka agin like the last pack if we are lucky, I suspect we have a good chance of seeing the Viashino Firstblade again.

If we want a 2 drop bear this is probably one of our better chances to get one, but I'm not entirely sure how I feel about bears in a format of Pillarfield Ox s.

If we're going to splash black instead of red I'd probably pick the maw over scrivener. I think I'd prefer to splash red through, based on the picks we saw in pack one.

I'm a fan of either the mastiff or the makaa, but I'm not sure which one I want at the moment. I think about it for a bit.

+1 Rubblebelt Maaka

I think at this point we're Naya with a black splash. A red Giant Growth makes all the difference whenever you use it. Also just thought i should point out that our last pick has not been added into our sideboard

Alright. I like the sound of naya with a black splash. And from the points stated above, I think I'm leaning toward the maaka

+1 rubblebelt maaka

@kanofudo - Fixed the sideboard.

After being reminded of the Pillarfield Ox average, Rubblebelt Maaka sounds the way to go. And if we end up going 4cmc.dec (which I doubt since we've still a long ways to go), we can always nab cluestones to help guarantee that 4th turn drop.

+1 Rubblebelt Maaka

thought about it, and hound needs support and a fast start or enchantmentsbto really be worth it

July 7, 2013 10:31 p.m.

On board the Maaka train.

+1 Rubblebelt Maaka

+1 Maaka

Also helps signal to our left that we want red in case they get any ideas.

GureiSeion says... #23

Alrighty, Maaka it is. Submitting shortly.

So, how about we just grab all the gatekeepers and just draft mono-gate pack 3? XP

That'd be a little extreme, but the 'keepers seems to be the way to go for this pick. And if Gleam of Battle tables, I'd even entertain thoughts of upgrading swinging 2/4s.
