...that Gatekeeper point is actually pretty important.

Since removal is pretty rare in 3xDMG some groups may very well use the black gatekeeper as their removal since drafting enough gates to use his effect probably won't be that much of a problem.

Needing 2 evolves just to have our 3cmc creature to take down a gatekeeper is rough while the skelly trades right away and can revive himself the next turn.

Looking at the recent comments section on our profiles, we want to avoid mentioning cards when tagging users too, apparently.

Depending on how things go, I want to submit our pick in an hour or so. zaddos, Tempest, how're you feeling?

Just to mention as well, with WGB, we shouldn't be that concerned about the 3cmc slot. Both White and Black have pretty awesome 3 cmc options with Rakdos Drake and Haazda Snare Squad which there should also statistically be 4 of each in this draft.

4 CMC on the other hand is a pretty hard spot to fill unless you are planning on using Gatekeepers. I mean Rubblebelt Maaka and Thrashing Mossdog are like the only non gatekeeper commons in the entire set.

the maaka and the mossdog are both good and i'm a fan of the black gatekeeper. this set seems like a slower one so wouldn't it be a good idea to go for a more aggro approach. i don't know. i feel like i'm just making up excuses now. zaddos do you mind if we pick the skeleton? cause i don't think the krasis is going to get any more votes

regarding the recent posts problem, i say GureiSeion just posts them in the maybeboard, and we vote based on the first letters of the card name. and if there happen to be 2 with the same code name, whichever one comes first gets a 1 after the name and the second one gets a 2 after its name

@Tempest - The recent posts problem only applies with tagging users. No problem if we watch the cardname dropping when doing any tagging whatsoever.

Honestly, I keep trying finding reasons to vote for the Krasis, but every time I think I find one it ends up really being just one more reason to vote against it lol.

Not that the skeleton is that great, but the Krasis is just a bad card especially when compared to other 3cmc creatures like the Rakdos Drake (2/1 trample evolve vs 3/2 flier, yeah, that's balanced :/).

I think it's about time to call it, then. Nabbing the skeleton and seeing what surprises await us.

Gureiseion, I was just looking at your recent comments and it actually shows your post with all of this pack's choices. That's a problem. If there are probing eyes who are looking to cheat, then following this theory, they can track what each team has right now

June 27, 2013 2:21 a.m.

GureiSeion says... #9

That's quite problematic indeed. Okay, looks like it's code letter time after all. I'll move my usual pack post up into the updates (keeping maybeboard, of course) and clear it out (to save on scrolling) after we're done with it.

Are you sure you can't just see it because you can see the deck?

June 27, 2013 3:11 a.m.

GureiSeion says... #11

Fairly sure. Logged out and still could see them. Refreshed and even checked your recent comments, too.

Caley's running a bit late. Packs shortly.

Pack's up, and I reported the "recent comments" issue to Caley for looking into.

Honestly I'm leaning towards the Gatekeeper. He's really not that bad if we can get enough gates (shouldn't be hard). 4cmc for a 2/4 and a 2/2 with vigilance is actually pretty good.

June 27, 2013 4:47 a.m.

I'm between Gatekeeper and Fumes. Not sure what the policy is when picking creatures vs removal.

June 27, 2013 5:04 a.m.

Supersun says... #16

Only reason I'm against fumes is because there already is a common version of that on a 2/4 body lol.

June 27, 2013 5:08 a.m.

I think it's a good card regardless of the existence of Ubul Sar; I'm just not sure if it's wise to pick it in favor of the gatekeeper in this particular pack.

+1 Sunspire Gatekeepers

I am also preferable to the gatekeepers. Same mana, for a permanent effect. Also, -4/-2 is not all that great in terms of straight up removal, especially for 4 mana.

Supersun says... #19

It is instant speed though which means we could use it as a combat trick, though it's not exactly sneaky with 4cmc.

GureiSeion says... #20

Another consideration of mine is Bane. It is technically blue removal. Still leaning towards the Gatekeeper myself.

+1 sg...?

Codenames or no?

June 27, 2013 9:17 a.m.

GureiSeion says... #22

Even with codenames, I fear it may be difficult to both hide where we're going and discuss decisions at the same time.

June 27, 2013 9:58 a.m.

I think this pick comes down to a body or "Removal". I'm leaning towards the body.

+1 Gatekeeper

I like the body, and the potential for two, more than I like mediocre removal. Besides, my experience with it is that you can pick it up pretty late

No argument from me... this time.

+1 gatekeeper
