I really don't know what to say here, as Vampires are typically an aggressive tribe, but you seem to be using them in a control-based way. The only thing I'd really say is to use Kalastria Highborn and/or Blood Artist to really utilize the Bloodghast and Blade of the Bloodchief theme. possibly Viscera Seer as well. And Verdant Catacombs , Marsh Flats , and Blood Crypt are all lands that would help you more.

Interesting suggestions, Ive tried running the Kalastria Highborn but most often once I drop them I dont get to use their ability too often unless I use my removal on Bloodline Keeper Flip tokens. These vamps get big and quick, so they dont die too often. So Ive found with Bloodghast they seem to be much more usefull. Even aginst token decks like goblins or soldiers, there is enough removal to let the vamps build their combos easy. The lands you suggest are expensive to get ahold of, but i see where they would be better than Evolving Wilds . I am interested in trying out the Blood Artist but isnt there a flying black creature that offers the same effect? All the same, thanks for the advice!

actually there is, but he's 4 mana. so i feel Blood Artist is better than Falkenrath Noble since you have nocturnus anyway.

oh, also, thinning your deck to 60 cards will help it go faster.

ill try taking out 2x blood crypt and and 2x tragic slip and see how that goes, after, vamps are aggressive so faster is better!

I'm honestly wondering, do you need drana or captivating here? and if you want speed, consider running a bunch of 1 mana vamps. speed usually comes from having a low curve and ways to thin your deck and/or play cards earlier. as of now your deck seems more conservative. I would also say put blood crypts in over mountains, as you're more black than red.

fun part of drana is by the time you drop her, she doesnt tap to use her ability, so its easy to use her ability to clear lots of crap out of the way, like death touchers and indestructable stuff. and the captivating vampire is only 3 drop that gives all vamps a little boost and makes for easy steals with bloodline tokens on the table. But maybe your right, Ill try a few other popular options in the 1-2 mana drop range and see what that does for me.

also, +2 Terminate . sideboard Dreadbore and swap for Terminate . Dreadbore is only better if they have annoying 'walkers, which not everyone does.

I was gonna mention that. Yeah, Terminate is better than Dreadbore unless your opponent is particularly planeswalker-heavy. And even then you could just toss in Vampire Hexmage .
After 2 years of playtesting I've come to the conclusion that the best vampire ever printed is Gatekeeper of Malakir . He may not seem that gamebreaking at a glance, but once you run him, you'll never want to drop him. This guy gets mained in vintage for Sorin's sake.

yeah he's real good. especially if you have Blood Artist s out. if you can drop him on turn 3, they might have to sac their only guy, or choose between 2 that they dont want to get rid of.
