This is my first commander deck. The deck is centered around Volrath the Fallen and his discard ability. The idea is to ramp with cards like Dark Ritual and Bog Witch to bring Volrath the Fallen out as quickly as possible. You can then use Volrath the Fallen to discard big creatures, like Ancient Stone Idol and Kokusho, the Evening Star , with death activated abilities. The goal is to kill your opponent with a beefed up Volrath, this is assisted with cards like Demonic Embrace and Dauthi Trapper .

Fun combo: This deck comes equipped with one little combo. Magus of the Coffers combined with Sword of the Paruns nets you an infinite amount of black mana. You can then use Volrath the Fallen 's ability an infinite amount of times on Endless Cockroaches to give Volrath the Fallen infinite power and toughness. You can also create an infinite life combo and infinite power/toughness combo by using the infinite mana combo described above and a combination of Vengeant Vampire (or Enatu Golem or Anodet Lurker ) and Phyrexian Reclamation .
