What do you think about Platinum Angel or Platinum Emperion? Other thank that I like the other additions to your deck! The inclusion of Mind's Eye is a card I completely forgot about in mine.

I like them both ferfy, but I don't own them right now, so to the sideboard they go! I just put this together today, and it's my first pass with cards I already have. I played 4 1v1 games with it and it won 3, one of them with a Mycosynth Lattice + Scrap Mastery combo. It was super-fun too, with all the crazy artifact interactions.

Hellkite Tyrant for some awesome shenanigans with Mycosynth Lattice? Seems fun and evil. I don't know how well he actually works since I haven't got my Deretti deck yet, but he is one that I will be definitely trying out.

this deck looks wicked fun. I might have to build a similar one. Nice list for not a lot of money. +1 dude.

Oh, also think Expedition Map would work? you have a lot of recursion. can fetch your utility lands (stripmine, ect) and ramps.

@Yoshi400x7: I put Blightsteel Colossus along with his little brother Darksteel Colossus in the maybeboard for now. I'm not sure I want/need the infect since there are a few ways to wreck days in the deck. Though I will say, he is an excellent target for Kuldotha Forgemaster.

@Grimgrinner: Thanks for the upvote, and yes this deck is totally fun to play. I had an Arcum Dagsson deck a while back that wasn't nearly as fun, because all it did was the Lattice + Forge + Disk combo. This deck has so many options to get stupid, sometimes it's overwhelming! Also, it's not a stax build (yet), so it's still some fun to play against (for now). And I agree, Expedition Map would be a great add, I'll get it in the deck the next time I'm swapping cards.

I also just realized, there's a lot that somebody making a cheaper vesion of this deck can cut while keeping the deck shell in tact, but slash the price. namely Metalworker, Sensei's Divining Top, and Arcbound Ravager. What would you say are some of the other most expensive cards in your list?

Karn Liberated is definitely up there. I happened to have one that I traded for a while back, and red/artifact decks need ways to deal with things like enchantments and planeswalkers. Oblivion Stone could probably be cut, as Nevinyrral's Disk is a sufficient stand-in, plus it's part a combo. Speaking of, if you're not into the whole lock down the board combo with Disk + Forge + Lattice, Mycosynth Lattice could probably be cut. I just added a Wheel of Fortune, but I think the deck could get by with just Reforge the Soul and maybe something like Shattered Perception.

Most of the rest of the cards are $5 or under. BTW, I don't think I'll be getting that Metalworker anytime soon, that's why he's in the maybeboard for now :)

as of this comment, i haven't seen what the deck is about. However, the fact that it's Daretti and the title alone earned it a +1. And the fact i saw Basalt Monolith doesn't hurt :P

Chandra Ablaze is a repeatable discard outlet in red, which Daretti likes. Red Elemental Blast and Pyroblast are great ways to say 'screw you' to a Countermagic heavy opponent. With 20ish Mountains, Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle would be an decent secondary wincon.

Mesmeric Orb might be good, let it sit there until it mills a good artifact from your deck, then play Daretti and scrap the orb itself for the good artifact it milled.

@mama_tom: As of this comment, even I don't know what the deck is about, other than being an excuse to do degenerate things with powerful artifacts :)

@nayrash5: I've thought about Chandra Ablaze, but I felt she was a little too costly for the effects, but that was before I was running a Contagion Engine in the deck, so I may rethink her. I should put Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle, because bonus damage is nice, and I currently only have one other tapland in the deck, so it shouldn't really slow me down either. I agree the blue counters are good, but I'm weird and like every card in my deck to be playable against any deck (within reason of course).

@metalevolence: Mesmeric Orb is pretty sweet, and I may give it a shot. My only reservation is that I prefer to control what I'm dumping in the yard, since it's almost impossible for me to get back any non-artifact cards with my current build. A reason why I'm considering Past in Flames, or putting Recoup back in.

Dude, I freakin' love it. Artifact decks are always the best and that will never change in my mind. LONG LIVE MIRRODIN!! +1

Dragon Mage to get through your deck faster

Wow, how about that flavor text on Dragon Mage, huh? Pretty sweet, and a good card too.

I don't have the decklist handy at the moment, but would buying the red 2014 precon deck be a good start to building this? I'm a new commander player without my own deck currently. In other formats I enjoy silly combos and synergies so this type of deck actually looks fun and want to try it or a version of it.

@atlantis55555: Jokulhaups would definitely contribute to the mean, but I don't really think I can find room for it right now.

@CrovaxTheCursed: Glad you like the deck! I have always loved artifacts ever since I started back in the Revised days.

@FatherLiir: I like Dragon Mage as another wheel effect, but the one I have is in my tribal wizard deck right now. I'll definitely think about it.

@Crayonmuffin: The C14 deck is definitely a good place to start, even just to get some of the core cards for the deck like Daretti himself, Wurmcoil Engine, Goblin Welder and Scrap Mastery. In my list there's about 15 cards or so that are currently over $3 or more according to TCGPlayer, so you could actually build out most of this list for around $100-150 (including buying the precon).

It That Betrays could be a nice card to have. He's strong beater on his own, but the combo between Mycosynth Lattice and Scrap Master with him out is hilarious and will definitely end the game.

December 23, 2014 6:45 p.m.

FeralKitten says... #24

Thanks for the suggestion Necrotize.

While It That Betrays is strong and rather funny with the Lattice + Mastery combo, I'm usually reanimating a few creatures, mana rocks and other artifacts when it goes off, so it feels like it might be a little "win more" in that scenario. Also, it's very expensive to cast and not easy to reanimate in this deck, so I probably won't put it it.

I will say I like that you're trying to make an already degenerate combo even more nasty :)

I love the Deck. I have a Daretti deck my self that I keep tweaking and just can't figure out exactly what I want to keep in or not. There is just SOOOOO many options haha. Anyway I have a few questions about 2 of the combos and then I'mma suggest some cards that I have in my deck. Umm 1st question would be about Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth Now maybe its just me but I don't think that one works since Basalt Monolith is a mana ability. Though if that does work by some miracle GREAT!!! Because both are in my deck. Now 2nd question I'm not getting the Dross Scorpion + Pentavus + Throne of Geth Thing either. You remove a +1 Counter to make a Pentavite to sac the creature to the Throne to go right back up to where you started to begin with by wasting mana??? Unless there is some like ETB thing your doing with that or idk it just confuzzles me :). Anyway still love the deck and I would Suggest Adding Mindslaver I can't tell you how many times I win off this one card. Also I think a Ancient Tomb might be a good add and I'm also going to add more ETB Effects on creatures into my deck like Inferno Titan to get more use out of Feldon of the Third Path Because he is a BOSS!!! +1 From me keep it going :)
