Semblance Anvil seems okay here; cheaper artifacts, cheaper creatures, and most importantly, cheaper artifact creatures. Personally, Bosh, Iron Golem won me quite a few games in the precon deck. He seems pretty good here too.

FeralKitten I see that you finally found a spot for All Is Dust . Tell me how that works out, it seems to be awesome I just haven't been able to get a hold of one yet.

Semblance Anvil is neat, but I'm worried about the card disadvantage it causes and most of the time I'm not hurting to cast what I want in a turn. Having said that, I will consider it because it's powerful and can lead to some crazy mid and late game plays. Bosh, Iron Golem was in the deck for a while, but I found him too "clunky" to use. He's a good beater, but his ability is slow and only really shined with Daretti's emblem, which doesn't happen every game. In fact, I think he deserves a place in the "I'm going to play nice this game" sideboard I'm building out. Thanks for hoping into the discussion alexyoung!

Hey BigHead066, yeah I finally got one in a trade and it should be here in the next week. I'm starting to update the TO list as soon as I have the cards on the way. Next up, Grim Monolith then Gamble!

I've been mulling around the Masticores, namely Molten-Tail Masticore and Masticore. They seem like they could be good creatures to have both for enabling discard, and then sacrificing to Daretti once what we want is in the graveyard and we no longer feel like filling it. Something I've noticed that is really important to tempo is to setup a way to discard that isn't Daretti, otherwise you're using Daretti for both with slows everything down. Thoughts?

Plus I'm fanboy for the masticores since I just love their design and art.

The masticores are neat, but I feel like they're a bit slow. I've been thinking about trying Deal Broker and finding room for Tormenting Voice and/or Wild Guess again for some early discard. Also Sliversmith will be filling that role nicely soon.

I always thought Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient was a cool and interesting card, and this looks like the home for him. How does he play in this deck?

Hey Brutticus, Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient is amazing in this deck. My favorite cards to abuse are Memory Jar and Ring of Three Wishes, both of which should get you close to winning the game if you can activate multiple times. There are so many other great abilities to copy as well, like Scarecrone, Trading Post, Sensei's Divining Top, Burnished Hart and the list goes on. He gets much better with Mycosynth Lattice out. So much fun to copy Daretti's ability for .

Firestorm possibly the fastest way to dump your entire hand besides One with Nothing and also gives much needed removal. Grimoire of the Dead also is cute with your proliferate subtheme.

I find myself questioning Blightsteel Colossus. While he is a bomb, he can't be cheated out by anything but Kuldotha Forgemaster(unless I'm mistaken) which makes him difficult to get out and dangerous to Acquire/Bribery. Only problem is I don't know what bomb should take his place. As I said, I like the Masticores as they are dual purposed and a pain to get rid of, but if not them maybe Moltensteel Dragon or a more defensive option like Platinum Angel/Platinum Emperion. Other contenders are Scuttling Doom Engine, Soul of New Phyrexia, and Thopter Assembly. While I do love Blightsteel, I don't think I've ever managed to get him into play and he is the first thing people look for when they cast Acquire.

@matrix1312: Firestorm is not a card I was aware of, but seems interesting. Like you say, Grimoire of the Dead is cute, but only seems really good when I do have the proliferate effects, which really isn't that often. Seems like it's good sideboard material though.

@Necrotize: While Bribery and Acquire are definitely scary, they don't show up in my meta very often, and I feel a turn 3 or 4 hasty Blightsteel Colossus (which the deck can pull off) is worth the risk of coming across those cards. Having said that, I suppose if this is a universally competitive deck it should be factored into the build, though I'm not sure if the correct answer is to replace him or put in some redirect effects to fend of those types of spells.

@Necrotize: Turns out I could only find one redirect effect in Wild Ricochet, but I can't really justify its inclusion. I've found a spot again for Homeward Path and Expedition Map to address the issue of a stolen Blightsteel Colossus.

Sorry if you have ever explained this, but I'm rethinking my Daretti deck which currently runs Worldfire instead of Decree of Annihilation, can I ask your opinion as to which would be better for this deck as a Board Nuke? (Because Bombs feel underwhelming)

January 6, 2015 7:19 p.m.

FeralKitten says... #16

Worldfire is banned in Commander, so I would have to say Decree of Annihilation is better :)

Really what you're looking for is to ramp via mana rocks then blow up all the lands, leaving you with an open board. So anything that accomplishes that goal should do fine.

Hi, Love the deck, I have something similar.

Two thoughts.

1) Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded is surprisingly effective in a deck like yours for helping you plow through cards. I have had him get me a land I needed on many occasions, and have used his Ultimate to devastating effect more than once. Plus, you can say you killed someone with Tibalt, which feels pretty good.

2) Zuran Orb is pretty nice in here. If you happen to also have Mycosynth Lattice + Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle, you can sac all your lands, gain life, then deal a ton of damage when the Mountains all come back (Like in a Scapeshift deck), rinse, and repeat. I like Zuran Orb more than Phyrexia's Core as a panic button.

FeralKitten says... #18

Hey Ender666666. While Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded might actually be decent here, I really don't like the random nature of the discard. I much prefer my discard controlled and restricted to only what I want yarded.

Zuran Orb is strong in the situation you mention (with Daretti's emblem mind you), I just don't feel it deserves a place outside of that combo because the life gain doesn't matter in most games I play. This deck either overwhelms with board presence or just wins with a combo. I can still have that Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle interaction with what's already in the deck with Mycosynth Lattice and any other repeatable artifact sac outlet.

Thanks for the suggestions though, going to check out your build now!

Worldgorger Dragon is a game ender with these three cards that you already run: Boom/Bust Decree of Annihilation All Is Dust and also Jokulhaups. Feldon of the Third Path syns nicely with Worldgorger as well.

I am looking for suggestions on my ArtiFactual Artificer deck if you have time.

I'm curious what specific function Karn Liberated plays in the deck (other than just being Good Stuff, and if what you'd substitute for him if someone didn't have a copy.

January 11, 2015 10:51 p.m.

FeralKitten says... #21

@rob_shifflett: Worldgorger Dragon is an interesting card, but I would be a little worried about Stifle effects on the return trigger.

@Ender666666: Karn Liberated only serves one purpose to me, but he does it really well and that's to exile problem permanents while I'm trying to set up a win condition. It's a nice bonus that he can also act as a win condition on his own, though he doesn't synergize with the deck other than the proliferate effects.

I guess I feel that most of the fun is in the risk. There are only three cards in the entire EDH Library with that affect. Stifle Trickbind Voidslime

That aside, I really enjoy your build.

In my opinion, Swiftfoot Boots doesn't even deserve a sideboard slot. My general experience with commander decks, is that Swiftfoot Boots' best target is your general, usually generals receive the most hate, and it's always good to protect them. Your commander can't wear the boots, (even though he'd look really awesome with them) and you do have some creatures that would love to wear a set of boots, (how do you make boots to fit a dragon?) but Lightning Greaves almost always seems like the better option.
