I run Angel's Trumpet in my Darien build, and it usually pays off in the end.

Bwahaha that is brilliant. I am going to add that in for sure. Thanks so much!

I know you are going for the soldier theme, but have you considered White Sun's Zenith?

Also of interest would be Acolyte's Reward, you can divert the damage to an opponent, OR if you have the sisters out, channel to your own life, and get your 1/1 tokens.

Lastly, a different take on an old combo. Guilty Conscience + Stuffy Doll . Normally a method to deliver infinite damage to a single opponent. However, if you target yourself when Stuffy Doll enters the battlefield, with the sisters out, you now have infinite 1/1 creatures and infinite life. Is it kind of a prick move? Yes. Is it satisfying to ask your opponents if they have dice you can borrow for more of your life and tokens? Also yes.

I am a huge fan of any infinite combos involving Stuffy Doll but I'd never thought of using it to my own advantage in this type of deck. I'll definitely add that in, and I'll add your other suggestions to consideration. Thanks for commenting!

+1 for Darien. I'd recommend including some mana sources that deal damage to you, to help pump out tokens. Mana Vault, Tarnished Citadel, City of Brass, Grand Coliseum, Nomad Stadium. Jade Monolith can let you protect your creatures and toss more tokens out.

Oh man, I love that you put Norn's Annex in here, I didn't even think of that. Maybe throw in a Crawlspace and/or Ghostly Prison and make a "you don't attack me unless I want you to" deck that punishes people when they do attack.

Also, Rings of Brighthearth so you could copy artifact abilities and Gideon's abilities as well. I think there's some synergy there.

Is the point to flip kytheon or nah? I've seen a lot of talk about not flipping him as a commander

July 14, 2015 8:15 p.m.

I don't mind if Kytheon gets flipped or not. The original general for the deck was Darien, King of Kjeldor but I replaced him with Kytheon for a good T1 play that would benefit me later on in the game as well. (Though Darien is still in the deck. I can't live without my token gens. Lol)

Archangel of Thune turns all of your creatures into Ajani's Pridemate. There's also Path of Bravery and Curse of the Forsaken. These can kind of replace your commander if it's out of commission. And finally Storm Herd is a great finisher for any lifegain deck.
