There's a phrase about giving someone enough rope to hang themselves. This deck is supposed to do that to an entire multiplayer table. It fuels everyone with extra cards and power on the board but at the same time takes defensive measures to protect itself from attack or make attacking it less profitable than attacking its other enemies. Arming the board with the weapons they will use to kill one another is ultimately a strategy for leaving just one deck standing: itself. The fact that with any boost to its power, Lord kills in two swings of commander damage helps.
