I would take out the Evolving Wilds, and try to get up around 23 swamps!

I would also try Doom Blade or Go for the Throat, rather than Feast of Blood, because they are instants and a little more reliable after a board clear or something. Pharika's Curse is not a really good card, and those two spots are better used for a kill spell or Bile Blight.

I would remove entirely either, Indulgent Aristocrat or Vampire Cutthroat, Blade of the Bloodchief, and maybe remove one of Gatekeeper of Malakir.

Cards you may consider adding: Temporal Extortion, Vampire Nocturnus, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and maybe Erebos, God of the Dead

Overall I loved your deck idea! Hope I helped!

Thank you for the advice I used to use vampire nocturnus not consistent enough and used doom blades and go for the throat but I found pharikas cure to kill most creatures plus I gained life and same for feast of blood I usually play this deck with buried alive victimize and demonic tutor for casual and creature removal and it can usually overwhelm someone quickly

Thank you silverninja41 I'm working on a name but I'm gonna try to finish figuring out how to make it faster without using illegal cards

It's a good start but mono black is a dead end if you want to be competitive.

Stormkirk Captain is probably the cheapest exemple.

You could start with the above list for reference. Switch the Kalastria Highborn to some number of Asylum Visitor and then tweak the removals and discard. You should end up with ~20-22 Vampires, 4 Liliana of the Veil, 4-6 discard and 5-7 removal, 23 lands of which at least 8 needs to be fetchlands to trigger Bloodghast and to make Vampire Nocturnus more consistent. 4 Mutavaults too since they can become vampires.

As it is, you are using some very subpar vampires; your fetches are obviously not ideal. You are probably under budget restrictions, but unfortunately it isn't easy to make Vampires a very competitive Modern deck.

Why are you playing Darkness in an aggro deck? Swap them for a few more creatures, idk which are the best.

I suggest you to do the same thing I did with my vampire deck: Remove all Vampire Cutthroat I would add 1 Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief and 1 Anowon, the Ruin Sage.I don't like Bloodghast also.Check out my deck Total Link, there are very similar cards we share since my deck is composed by vampires too!

February 16, 2017 5:37 p.m.

February 16, 2017 9:28 p.m.

I'm think about put 1 mountain and 4 evolving wilds for Stromkirk Captain too

February 16, 2017 9:29 p.m.

Whitelionq says... #15

I might add a second mountain

February 17, 2017 7:24 a.m.

You could add a Blood Crypt if you put fecthlands. It would be very useful. I don't put fetchs in my deck because of $$$.

I dig the blood crypt and I'm probably going to cut the night hawk and some instance and add some more low cost vampires

Loved my side board for the tournament tonight I played a grixis deck and totally removed all of there removal

February 18, 2017 10:39 p.m.

Your side is good, infinite obliteration is great for decks that have a key creature that would end with your game. Dismember is awesome by the low cost too. I wouldn't remove nighthawk, it's a core for any decent vampire deck. Does Blade of the Bloodchief work good?

I love blade of the blood chief it's kinda is unstoppable once it starts rolling

It was hard to splash red and taking out my night hawk and the gate keeper but I'm hoping that the haste function of Olivia s blood sworn to speed up my attacks and the falkenrath forger to be a faster cast and giving all my vampires madness will hopefully be more helpful

My deck agains't yours won by 2-0. First match my deck won at turn 7 and second round turn 9. I think your deck needs Gatekeeper of Malakir and a maximum of 23 creatures. You have too much creatures and can't hold the damage so you need Darkness. You should add more removals(your removals are great, but you have few...) and some enchants or something else. And on both rounds Blade of the Bloodchief didn't work. Card I would remove: Falkenrath Gorger, Vampire Cutthroat, Olivia's Bloodsworn, Darkness and Blade of the Bloodchief. Something I would add: Night's Whisper for some speed, Terminate for some clean. Its all about MY opinion. I'm new with magic and I only suggest these cards because my main deck is based on vampires too. Hope it was helpful.

Another observation, my deck became alot more powerful after I found your deck. Thank you for that xD.

Since you have your deck labeled as competitive, my suggestions will be geared to make it as competitive as possible without regard to budget. If budget is an issue, you'd be better off labeling this deck accordingly and removing the competitive tag.

Firstly, your manabase must change if you want to make this deck competitive. As it is right now, you can't play a turn 1 Falkenrath Gorger into a turn 2 Gifted Aetherborn or Bloodghast, which is your best line of play. To fix this, your mana should look closer to something like this: 4x Bloodstained Mire, 4x Blackcleave Cliffs, 4x Blood Crypt, 7x Swamp, 1x Mountain. Playing a 2-color land untapped on turn 1 for your turn 1 creature will allow you to play any of your 2-drops or 2 additional 1-drops the following turn. This is important in an aggressive deck like this so you can put plenty of early pressure on your opponent.

Second, maximize the best creatures in your deck. You have a bunch of 3-ofs, and quite honestly some of them aren't as good as others. I'd make the following changes: -3 Vampire Cutthroat, -3 Olivia's Bloodsworn, -1 Indulgent Aristocrat, -1 Blade of the Bloodchief; +1 Bloodghast, +1 Gifted Aetherborn, +1 Captivating Vampire, +1 Stromkirk Captain, +4 Vampire Lacerator.

Third, use good supporting spells. Your aggressive vampire deck is not equipped to make good use of Surgical Extraction, so I'd move them to the sideboard in favor of more removal in the maindeck. Fatal Push is one of the best removal spells in black, so I'd use 3 in that spot. The 3 Darkness aren't ideal, but again are good cards for your sideboard against opposing aggressive decks. For the maindeck, 3 Inquisition of Kozilek or 3 Thoughtseize would be better in that spot to take out some of the better cards in your opponent's hand before they get a chance to play them. If you don't like the idea of the discard spells, then a utility creature like Gatekeeper of Malakir would be good as a 3-of in that spot, since it doubles as a removal spell and should be easier to cast with the improved manabase from above. It also synergizes nicely with Kalitas if you draw it after Kalitas is in play.

Hope some of that helped. Id try out those changes and see how you fare. The lands are a little pricey, but the whole reason they are is because they're the best way to have 2 colors in a deck and never worry about having wrong or untapped mana when you need them. Happy playing!
