This is quite the control that im looking for, great deck! +1 just got a quick question Knowledge pool prevents from casting something or does it cast then exiles it?

Meddling Mage is a perfect card for this deck! Check out my deck, A Superfriendly Walk on Esper. +1

@Sinadra
Knowledge Pool will let them cast it, but it would be immediately countered. They couldn't cast a second spell with Knowledge Pool's effect because they have Curse of Exhaustion on them.
@Chubbub
I had seriously considered Meddling Mage, but I wanted to keep the deck Black and White. The only blue in the deck is Gitaxian Probe, and I can cast it by paying life instead of mana.

I love the idea of this deck. Super funny (and a pain for your opponents). +1

Surgical Extraction or Extirpate would fit nicely in this deck. This deck is the Esper Dentist, it takes the teeth out of the opponents deck. +1!

This deck is fantastic! It's very funny and also good. +1

Forbidding Watchtower , Inkmoth Nexus , and other lands which can deal damage to your opponent would be great once you had the lock in place.
February 12, 2013 3:18 p.m.
Vorxis, I actually really like the idea about adding the Manlands. Not only would they be a great additional Win-Con, but the ones like Forbidding Watchtower would provide blockers, which this deck could really use. Thanks for the tip!

I REALLY love this deck. I don't know how well it plays and all, but it seems like a blast to play (not much to play against, though). +1. :-)

Looking at this deck, the only big-ish issue I see is that the mana base might be a smidge sketchy. You have a lot of early drops that want black, and a lot of early drops that want double white. Cheapest money-wise would be Caves of Koilos at ~$2, but Godless Shrine or Isolated Chapel would probably be better.
Of course, I'm sure you knew all that. I just wanted to get in the official suggestions.
Honestly, I'd also consider running one or two more each of the pieces to your combo. At just two each, you probably won't draw them together too often.
I'd also really strongly consider maindecking a few of the GftTs. Four O-Rings won't be able to deal with everything on their own, and the Runed Halos won't help against some cards and combos. Not to mention that both are subject to enchantment removal.
Those are more nitpicks than anything, honestly The deck is still, really, really cool, though, and could probably win quite a few FNMs with careful play. Just expect to lose your first game, a lot.

The ONLY seriously bad matchup that i can think of for this deck are Deathpod style decks where all of the creatures are 1x, but they're not very common

I like this deck a lot, but i think it's just a bit to slow to be played in modern as is, I think a set of Path to Exile would go a long way to save your butt

What about a card like Tidehollow Sculler ? It messes their tempo up, but isn't as good as Castigate . Also, it's vulnerable to two kinds of removal but it draws removal away from other things. Something to consider at least if it fits your play style
February 19, 2013 2:13 p.m.
I had considered Path to Exile until I saw their $8.00 price tag. Since this is an ultra low-budget deck, They would probably have to be something I'd much later down the line. Maybe when I have a real job. lol
I had seriously considered Tidehollow Sculler and I'm still on the fence about it. The only reason I haven't put him in is because he is so vulnerable to removal that even Green can nuke him with a well-aimed Naturalize He's a cool guy, but I feel like I have better options.
Thanks to both of you for your feedback though!

Oddly enough, Tidehollow Sculler trades being hit by artifact/enchantment removal for being almost completely impossible to hit with black removal.
Cheap black removal that does not work on Tidehollow Sculler: Terror, Go for the Throat, Doomblade, Ultimate Price, Victim of Night, probably a bunch of other shit I don't remember off the top of my head.
Now, of course, a lot of these don't really get run in Modern very often, if at all, but it is interesting to note that he trades being hit by some removal for the ability to avoid a whole hell of a lot of other removal.

I think 4x Memoricide is too many, you could probably put Extirpate in as a 3/1 split with Memoricide and be happy. It limits you to things in their graveyard, but I've found you almost never want more than one copy of a card like that...Cranial Extraction and the like are great sideboard cards on the play, but four main deck is just waiting for you to get beat down.

Sorry to keep bringing it up, I just find it to be really effective. I play Surgical Extraction quite a bit, and I almost feel bad when I get more than one per game. Lol

If you ever find appropriate creatures to add that would help keep the deck equally or more devastating than it is now, that's the only advice I could ever think of lol. Just because if you're not getting any creatures there's probably like a 1% chance of being open, but you've obviously got back up in this deck for if that ever happens. I +1'd this because it's the gnarliest deck I've ever seen, and the strategy of slipping in seek, is almost a checkmate move against your opponent.

Path to Exile over Condemn? Exile the creature while you're at it. And life is more valuable than a land..
March 5, 2013 4:03 a.m.
As I'd said in earlier comments, this is meant to be a budget deck and with Path to Exile having an $8.00 price tag at the moment, adding $30 to the deck's price just to accomplish something similar is a little excessive. Besides, if you're locked out of the game and every card in your hand/deck is a dead draw, it doesn't matter if you have 100 life or 10.
People are more than welcome to tweak the deck to cater to their budget though. Godless Shrine and Isolated Chapel are infinitely better than Caves of Koilos but I'm broke and like those better.
Thanks for the input though.

Seems pretty sweat against combo. Maybe you want something like the new Obzedat, Ghost Council as effective anti-control card. Also, Day of Judgment and/or Black Sun's Zenith are pretty nice against any aggro/creature based decks.

I cringed as finished reading this list. +1 Have you found anything that this deck struggles with? Maybe a strong counter oriented blue deck? It looks like it would fare well against any challenger.

My friend runs a deck like this in blue with a bunch of 0-cost stuff that essentially do nothing but allow him to hijack my stuff for free. You should look into that. Sorry that I don't remember any of the 0-cost staples off the top of my head.

Interesting combo- this deck could definitely give people nightmares. I've never seen anything quite like this, it's pretty cool. Gotta give it a +1! :)
