+1 Stoneshock Giant
Hands down, a game-winning card.

I think we should pick 3D Maneuver Gear instead. It beats all titans/giants of which there are many in THS.

It's looking like our game plan is to get to the late game and take it over with huge creatures and Sea God's Revenge. We have some pretty awesome fatties, and taking another Stoneshock adds to them. I like where the deck is ending up. :) Possibly need some method of surviving the early game though? I think this is a deck that could actually main deck our Guardians of Meletis, as an assurance we'll be getting to our 4-7 cost spells.
(Sorry for being a bit absent. Been away for a week, but also agreed with most of the choices I could respond to. :) )
+1 Stoneshock Giant

What we are hoping for is to get more aggressive 2-3 drop creatures though as a last resort we could add guardians in their place.
In general though our deck is midrange. There are plenty of late game decks that have more powerful late game strategies so the idea is to curve into our game ending 5-6 drops with aggressive creatures and use our disruption to swing through for the last bit of free damage as a form of reach (though reach in this case being like 10 damage lol).

I think second Giant is reasonable.

+1 Stoneshock Absinthman
Hopefully we'll see like 3 Lightning Strike/Magma Jet in the next few packs, maybe another Phalanx Leader. Definitely too optimistic, but I can hope, right?

Don't forget the Titan's Strengths as well.
At this point I'd be willing to pass up some pretty good stuff for TS.

Pick 3-3 is up. Not a particularly lucky pack, but there is Gods Willing and Titan's Strength which we both want, so the question is, what do we want more. I'm leaning towards Gods Willing.

I would also lean towards Absinthman's Willing. It's more likely a 2-for-1 than Absinthman's Strength, but can also potentially make a creature unblockable.

Leaning Gods Willing because it's generally more useful than just 3 extra damage. It can protect against kill spells, where Titan's Strength only really helps in combat.

Yeah, Gods Willing is better for us I think. Makes our Flamespeaker Adept pumped, virtually unblockable, and protects against Griptide and SGR.
November 15, 2013 11:35 a.m.
Yeah, probably God's Willing though I almost want to vote for Titan just to potentially drop one on an Adept and swing through for +5 though 4 damage unblockable is probably better then 7 damage if the decide not to block in that regard.
I don't have any huge qualms about this pack. We need pump spells badly and a pack comes around to give us our pick. I'd be nice of that Titan tables, but none of the previous ones have so far. Keep in mind though that this is the 6th Titan's Strength we have seen. If we ever go against any deck with a red splash...we know what to watch our for.
November 15, 2013 2:28 p.m.
Err, 4th Strength, not 6th.
We are probably going to get a fairly unstellar second pick from this pack lol.
November 15, 2013 2:30 p.m.
Also something else important to note.
We currently have...
12 creatures and 6 non-creature spells (including our pick from this pack) that are pretty much guaranteed to make our final deck.
Assuming 18 lands that means that we need about 4 more cards to finish our 40 card deck.
Pump spells and 1-3 cmc creatures should probably be our focus on those last 4 cards (though if an amazing 4 drop comes to us we could probably fit 1 more in).
(Also, I just noticed that we have not drafted a SINGLE rare this entire draft. Who needs rares when you get bomb level uncommons I guess lol)

Though we might be using Gods Willing offensively, I think that we will mainly want to keep it as ways to protect our dudes as the majority of them is quite valuable and losing them will be pretty bad.
November 15, 2013 2:55 p.m.
The offensive nature of it is more when you are in a position to swing for game using it.
That or swing with phalanx leader and friends then pump for game.

Agreed. Gods Willing should only be used offensively for getting through with the last points of damage in a match. Or potentially to blow out a combat.

Next pack is here. I suppose the choice is between Battlewise Valor and Deathbellow Raider. I probably wanna pick the Raider, because he's an aggresive low-drop dude and we need those.
November 16, 2013 4:46 a.m.
Hmm, hard choice.
The Minotaur is pretty powerful. He's a 2 drop with the stats of a 3, but the always attacking clause can be problematic (It can situationally be helpful actually if you have a pump spell in hand since the opponent isn't going to be thinking of a trick as much as he thinks the Minotaur is just swinging because he's forced to). 3 toughness is a lot though and he should be able to at least trade with most creatures until 4 drops start to hit the field (which is when we should start dominating anyway)
On the other hand we really need at least one more pump spell to be able to reasonably use Phalanx Leader. While it's not the best one ever it's a fairly decent one with scry to trigger Adept to boot.
I guess it comes down to that we NEED 1 more pump spell and could REALLY USE 2 more low drops. We realistically only have 4 more good picks since picks 1-4 are only going to table some atrocious things (Spellheart Chimera being the best). If we only needed 1 pump and 1 low drop I'd take the pump spell in an instant since pump seems to dissapear faster, but relying on 50% of our remaining picks to be low drops seems a bit risky.
+1 Minotaur
This way out of our 4 remaining good picks we only need 1 low drop and 1 pump as opposed to hoping we get 2 low drops. The last card slot can be whatever is best in case we get another 4 drop, a 3rd low drop, or a second pump spell after this one. We can reinclude Triton's Tactics if nothing better comes around since it's still a great late game multipump to hit Phalanx Leader.

Man that Absinthwise Hopman would be really great if our deck layout would support it :/
But I guess the Absinthbellow Raidman will have to suffice.
November 16, 2013 5:28 a.m.
I agree with what Supersun said. I'd rather lack one low-drop and a pump spell, than lacking two low-drops.
Dallie says... #1
Supersun, just to be clear, do you mean Stoneshock Giant?
I would also waver between Dragon Mantle and the aforementioned. Dragon Mantle has proved very useful to me in a sealed deck I made, but that was largely heroic and with some of those red 1/2s with double strike from Theros.
For now I'm leaning towards the Stoneshock Giant.
