The match will start at 5pm PST as planned. However, Caley will most likely not be here to stream it. He told us to proceed without him. You can watch my side of the match on twitch.com/absinthman. Low quality, but watchable.

Sorry, guys, I'm too tired after the weekend, so I decided to shift the today's match to tomorrow.

Sadly reporting a loss agains GureiSeion. His deck seemed pretty damn similar to Wodar's. Damn Garys again. They are our nemesis. Overall, I feel like this round was pretty unlucky. I kept a reasonable starter in round 1, but never drew more gas and eventually ran out of it, while Gurei sucked life out of me. Round 2 had better draws, but this time Gurei had all the answers to them.

I was recording in the beginning but it was slowing my system down too much, so I shut it down after few minutes.
In the first game, I kept 2 mountains, amulet, flamespeaker, spark jolt, 2 leonin snarecaster. I was drawing nothing but lands (and 1 triton tactics) even though I scried two of them to the bottom. I must admit that I was tired as hell and not feeling particularly well, that while thinking about what to do, I forgot to play a land on turn 4. That was a huge misplay of course, but it eventually proved to be irrelevant, since I never drew anything and lost the game with bunch of lands in my hand. As for game 2, I kept temple of triumph, 3 basics including an island, satyr rambler, haste minotaur, hyppocamp. I feel that the point at which Gurei secured his victory was his lucky mill with Returned Centaur. He hit our Cyclops and Stoneshock which deprived me of some of our greatest threats. Also, he had answers to everything: Viper's kiss to my turn 2 Satyr, Hero's Downfall for the 4/3 minotaur, pharika's cure for the haste minotaur when I was bestowing the red emissary onto it, then destroy target enchantment for my white emissary bestowed on the red emissary.
Based on this experience, I decided to only schedule games for the morning (late night PST). I fell much better playing at that time.

Just to make things clear, I'm not entirely blaming bad luck here. The fault was totally on my side because I decided to play the match while not being 100% able to. I made questionable decisions, but all in all, as I look back, I don't think I would have won even if I made all the right calls.

Hi guys. I got a message from Deco_y around 4:30am my local time that he had to reschedule the match due to unforseen circumstances. Upon reading it, I immediately went back to sleep, that's why I'm posting the info this late.
We're currently rescheduling the match. Right now, it looks like Saturday or Sunday 10pm PST.

Unfortunate with our latest match, but alas that's how things go from time to time.
Also, I'm perfectly fine with an announcement when you're not woken up in the middle of the night ;)
Looking forward to the next match, hopefully we can knock Deco_y off his winning streak! :)

Hello gentlemen. Reporting that we have successfully put an end to Deco_y's winstreak. It wasn't without difficulties and without luck, but what matters is that we have prevailed. Caley should have a replay available some time later.

I wouldn't think too much about the game 2 mulligan decisions. Against an undefeated opponent you can't afford the luxury of starting with only 1 permanent in hand especially when it's the Satyr and your opponent just showed you 2 Balefuls and Wanderers.
Frankly mulling to 4 was correct and if statistics felt like being even remotely fair and giving you a mountain instead of a second island you actually would of had a pretty good chance of competing in that game.
Only major misplay that I noticed that was bad was using that God's Willing to protect the cyclops. You were already making imo a beneficial 1-1 trade, dropping the god's willing isn't gaining you any advantage since you are just trading the cyclops for the Willing and opened you up to be 2-1ed against ANY pump spells that would let the agent survive the cyclops which is nearly all of them.
There were other debatable plays, but none that were objectively worse.

I understand that was a misplay. I was considering whether it's worth it. But if I recall correctly (and I might not because I haven't seen the replay yet), Deco_y only had 1 white mana up at that particular moment. I figured he could have had Gods Willing of his own, but in the end I decided to try and risk it to potentially preserve superior board presence. If I remember wrong and he had more mana up, then I sure made a huge mistake playing the Gods Willing.

Hello dudes. Reporting a 2:0 win against Euphonatron. Not particularly exciting games. He got mana screwed game 1, color screwed game 2. Our third game that we played for fun (and that I won too) was much more intense. Caley was at a pre-release tonight, so unfortunately, there is no recording of his available. I recorded my part of the match and have it available for you. If you are interested, let me know and I'll upload it to YouTube.

The recorded match is available here: http://youtu.be/nrKlKex7juY. Feel free to watch it. Traditionally, I'm sorry for the poor quality. Time to upgrade my hardware I guess. Also, sorry for my voice being so low. I had people sleeping next room.

Just watched the match.
Even without that screw I'm not entirely sure the result would have been largely different since in both games you pretty much curved perfectly.
That being said. I'm not sure I can say he's entirely without blame. The only reason we can get away with 3 color is because of the fixing we were able to draft. Without it we would pretty much be forced to cut back a 3rd color to only the latest splash (TT, Griptide, and Seahorse would be out of the question without our fixing). From what we saw he had a 1cmc green, a 2 cmc blue, and a 3 cmc white. Even our deck might only barely be able to support that type of a splash, and even then the statistics would be much lower then I would prefer.

I was wondering the same thing about his three colors and no fixing. It's possible he just got unlucky and didn't draw it. But all things considered, his deck seemed to have a significant green portion, so keeping a hand without forests in game 2 was quite a bad move in my opinion.

Hello guys, I'm sorry for such short notice but if we want to get this done soon, we can't have to take every opportunity to play. Absinthman vs. actiontech (take 2), will take place today at noon PST (8pm GMT).

Note: I won't be able to stream, nor will Caley (presumably), so those who're interested are free to watch the match live on Actiontech's stream, or later wherever he uploads it.

We've managed to get hold of Caley. Me and Gurei have been suppressed by his spam filters for some obscure reason. I'm going out of town for the weekend and currently I'm trying to schedule the match on Sunday 5pm PST (I'll be at home by then). I should have mobile connection available while I'm away, so I'll let you know if the date and time are final during the course of the weekend.
