Introduction:

If you are looking for a fun, semi-competitive deck, then this may interest you. If you enjoy whittling people down with burn while also casting huge spells, this deck is right for you. If you want to roll your way to victory, then read on if you dare...

Understanding the Deck

Though this deck could have many more powerful cards and combos added to it, we are looking more to sit down and have fun casually with this deck while also not having to dig too deep into our wallets. This is by no means a cEDH deck nor do I think it is even close to being one. With that being said, approach the rest of this deck with that idea in mind.
We are using Vial Smasher the Fierce and Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix as our commanders. Vial Smasher will be our main commander and tool for winning while Kydele will function as a tool for casting even larger spells. Of the partner commanders to pair with Vial Smasher, Kydele makes the most sense as she opens our colors up to and . These two colors give us access to ramp and control. These are some of the most important aspects of EDH as they allow us to get ourselves ahead so that we can win faster while also preventing other people from winning before us.

Before I move on, I do want to say that Thrasios, Triton Hero is, without a doubt, a better partner than Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix . However, this deck's goal is to be more budget friendly and more fun. We don't want to sit down for a game and become targets for using two incredibly powerful partners. If you are looking for a more competitive version of this deck or are willing to spend more, then Thrasios is definitely the way to go.

As this is more of a casual deck, our goal is to win by reducing our opponents' life totals to 0 before ours. We do this mostly through Vial Smasher the Fierce 's ability. We want to be casting huge spells that make everyone pray that they don't get randomly chosen; at the same time, these spells will be accruing us large advantages and value which we will hopefully use to spiral out of control with.

Becoming the Archenemy

Yes, I know I said that there are no combos in this deck, and there really aren't! Most of the cards that will be featured in here are just synergies. With that in mind, let's continue!

Cards in here are going to get our opponents attention and quickly! These will likely be cards which prevent them from doing something or hurt them in some annoying way. Here they are:
  • Jin-Gitaxis, Core Augur. This is an incredibly powerful card which helps us draw through our deck while reducing what our opponents can do if left unchecked. This card will almost certainly be targeted above anything else if you have it on the board outside of a few scenarios. This card also works with Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix well if you have an instant in your hand that you want to ramp into.

  • Void Innower. Hey, what if you just, couldn't cast half of your deck? Sounds fun, right? Wrong! But boy is it fun to use it against your opponents! Especially when they have an even CMC commander! This just makes you harder to answer and limits a lot of opponents interactions with you. Just think of how much removal and how many counters are even CMC! Though it doesn't dodge Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares , it sure does stop a lot!

  • Kaervek the Merciless . This was my first commander when I first started playing EDH. And boy is he a blast. There are so few cards in the game which make your opponents scared to cast spells (to name another one, Perplexing Chimera ). This guy can disrupt combos, add to our damage, and also kill big creatures if they're big enough. If your group is okay with it, you can also use it for politicking to remove big threats!

These are going to be the combos which can give us an engine that we ride straight into value town.

And finally, Windfall / Jace's Archivist . These wheel effects have so much synergy with the deck that I'm giving it its own list! They synergize with:

  1. Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix . Draw a bunch and profit in mana!

  2. Reanimate . If you discard a powerful creature, no worries! Maybe you'll get it back!

  3. Kess, Dissident Mage . Similar to reanimate, if you ever want to cast one of those spells you lost from the wheel (or just Windfall itself) then you can just flash it back!

  4. Torrential Gearhulk . Same as Kess but a little more limited with the added bonus that you don't have to pay!

  5. Lord Windgrace . Helps you return some lands to battlefield in case you discarded some and wanted 'em back.

  6. Tasigur of the Golden Fang, Treasure Cruise , and Dig Through Time . Each of these uses Delve and also Tasigur has his own graveyard effects.

TL;DR

Basically, cast big spells, roll big scary dice, and hit face! Have fun with your friends with this deck and try not to make too many enemies along the way!

Updates Add

-Replaced Omnispell Adept with Burnished Hart. Though Omnispell does let us play cards early, Burnished gives us consistent ramp

-Replaced 2 Mountain with Hinterland Harbor and Exotic Orchard. We have a lot of blue in the deck, let's accommodate that fact. Thanks to xaarvaxus!

-Replaced Scheming Symmetry with Blasphemous Act. It's a high CMC spell that we cast for cheaper that can clear the board! Plus, Scheming wasn't doing too much for as as there really wasn't a lot we can tutor for to just win immediately. Thanks again to xaarvaxus!

-Replaced Dramatic Reversal with Jace's Archivist . Allows us to Windfall which is really powerful with out Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix *f-etch*. Dramatic Reversal was nice for her, but this allows us to refresh our hand (usually) while also giving us more mana than dramatic.

-Replaced Nezahal, Primal Tide with Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur. Though this isn't a budget card, the value that it can provide is tremendous, especially if we have a way to give cards flash so that we can use the mana from Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix *f-etch* to cast really large spells!

-Replaced Mulldrifter with Illusory Ambusher. Mulldrifter only draws us two cards for five mana and providing a body while Illusory allows us to flash something in (that's another Vial Smasher the Fierce trigger) and block something to draw (usually) more than two cards!

-Replaced Sunbird's Invocation with Avenger of Zendikar. Avenger gives us a lot of on board defense while also giving us some potential offensive abilities with all the ramp that's in this deck. You never know!

-Replaced Capsize with Springbloom Druid. This kind of allows us to fix our mana while also getting a blocker which is really nice! Sometimes staving off early aggression (looking at you infect) is just as important as getting value.
