Sideboard

Look around you. You stumbled into my domain. And me and my subordinates of Orzhov are dying to make your acquaintance...

Your life has a better purpose now: ensuring the continuation of our own.

Okay, so here's some stuff you need to know about this deck:

  1. Other than board wipes like Merciless Eviction, I will not put in a card in this deck higher than 5 CMC. This ensures that I can set up the combos quickly.

  2. Wondering why I have so many Vizkopa Guildmage s? First ability can give my 1 cost guys (Soulmender and Dryad Militant) some lifelink in case I need the life. Second ability allows my Blood Baron of Vizkopa to steal double life. Both abilities used together can allow Obzedat, Ghost Council to become incredibly dangerous.

Combos:

Archangel of Thune + Soulmender : This one should be obvious. Tap to give all creatures counters. The art for the cards were made by the same damn person, for Bolas's sake!

Blood Baron of Vizkopa + Vizkopa Guildmage OR almost any other creature + Ready / Willing : Honestly, the number of times I've won off of Vizkopa Guildmage 's last ability, mixed with all the creatures I attacked with, and adding Ready / Willing, giving any of my other creatures lifelink (like Obzedat, Ghost Council ) (also deathtouch) has given it a very big part in my deck.

I think the one thing that kind of screws me over is blue counter decks. That's why Obzedat's Aid is in the side board.

Yep. I want to put green mana in this deck, and put in stuff that will benefit more. Since I just picked up the new Duel Decks today, and they had a lot of stuff I could use, like Vraska the Unseen and Rogue's Passage, I kind of figured it would be appropriate to throw them in when I get suitable green mana. My friend has another Vraska and a Temple Gardenfoil he's willing to sell to me, and if I can get a hold of them, I'll finally be able to put together a powerful deck. Then I can start putting in stuff like Putrefy instead of Doom Blade and Corpsejack Menace to multiply the counters from Archangel of Thune.
