You need Aetherling Mainboard. If they deal with your Jace when you play him you don't actually have a way to kill them. Also add Nephalia Drownyard

Thx guys for commenting.

@Wahammy, Aetherling is sideboard so I can change my wincon against decks with slaughter games. If I'm playing against a deck with a way to deal with jace. I'll just make sure I don't tap out to cast him. Also, obviously Drownyard kicks ass, but this is post rotation.

I might drop a couple Cancel for Negate ...Silence may be nifty here, and why no Psychic Spiral ?

Maybe Celestial Flare for Loxodon Smiter or extra support against hexproof? Crypt Incursion is pretty useful also, maybe sideboard?

I have something similar but I went grixis instead. I have Wight of Precinct Six in mainboard idk if he could be of any use in your deck.

Pithing Needle would wreck this....as Jace, the Mind Sculptor is your only wincon. Nephalia Drownyard is a must until rotation, and its like 30c a piece, run 2. otherwise if you are dead set on post rotation, mainboard AEtherling and wait until the theros spoilers...theres absolutely no point in building post rotation decks before then.

SS1985-I cut Cancel for Sphinx's Revelation , and I already have negate in the sideboard. I don't really feel like Silence is needed here, and same with Psychic Spiral . I can just board wipe against hex proof, and kill Smiter. I feel like Graveyard strategies wont really work post rotation, so there is no reason to sideboard Crypt Incursion. The Wight is not bad, it's just that I'm not trying to win through damage, I'm trying to win through mill.

DjinnjerVitis, I added D-Sphere to deal with Pithing Needle .

consider something like Codex Shredder it'll mill from turn one, and can get you back a dead jace late game, or another field wipe, plus can be done at end of opponents turn,

have you considered using Jace, Architect of Thought instead of memory adept? I have seen this more so in control based decks. Also Mutavault s fit nicely into here for a nice man-land assuming you lock down the board, which with the mainboard you have shouldnt be difficult. Tri-colors will be a bit tricky post rotation, but I really like the way it looks. Definitely mean. +1

Sorry, didnt read as well as I should. memory adept is basically your win con. Still think +2 Mutavault could really help out.

Thx for the suggestions guys, they're really good. Pyroshade, I cut 2 Syncopate s and a Render Silent and added 3 Codex Shredder . chandlerwrx06, I put in 2 Mutavault s for a Swamp and a Plains. Pyroshade if you wouldn't mind =1-ing, that'd be great. Chandlerwrx06, I don't think ur +1 went through, so if you want to try again, that'd be awesome.

Here's a small idea, -1 Detention Sphere, -1 Azorious Charm, and -1 Supreme Verdict for +3 Breaking

Pyroshade says... #14

Breaking / Entering is an awesome card for pure mill decks, but it is just too single use in this deck, a mill card for here would need multiple purpose, such as Psychic Strike or Pilfered Plans it would need to mill AND do something else

Pyroshade says... #15

i would change your counter spells to 3xPsychic Strike and 4xRender Silent as usually the thing you counter will then be the last thing then can cast that turn,

also consider something like, AEtherize for when creatures get through (as they will) or even Cyclonic Rift as it can deal with paneswalkers, plus it's overload is like a lovely field wipe

Pyroshade, I feel like the mana base would have a hard time with its cost. It already has enough trouble getting verdict's cost. If Theros has good duals, than I'll add the the 4th Render Silent .

Pyroshade says... #17

that is because of your lands, you have 9 swamp potential, 9 plains potential and 17 island potential, i'd up plains too 12, meaning remove 3 island and add 3 plains, you'll find most of your manna troubles will be sorted by adjusting your lands, and % of colours for any 3+ coloured deck

you have 12 cards using black, and 15 using white, but your white cards are more colour intensive, so you should be using more white manna than black anyway

Thoughtseize is back, Pyroclasm is back, the one spoiled god is so OP it's ridiculous, meaning I'm sure all of them are going to be. This block is going to shake the hell out of standard with extremely powerful cards. I really see no point in making a post rotation deck with a whole new world of power coming in 3 weeks. That being said the deck is very good, I just think things are going for a whole 180 come the rest of the spoilers! Cheers.

Why are you not running Temple of Silence s? They fix your mana, and so far in playtesting, the temples have been very handy (feel free to check out my Post Rotation UWR Control).

Yes they come into play tapped, but mana fixing is so important. Plus, they have an upside.

i'm loving the synergy between Thassa, God of the Sea and AEtherize I've been working on a deck with Ashinok in mind and this looks awesome! +1 for you dude!!!

I first though Ashiok was a Mirrodin race (like Neurok, Sylvok etc) than I thought it was focused on artifacts than I looked at the label that says STANDARD than I was like WTF than I looked at the Planeswalker...

Don't you mean between the Bident and AEtherize its her weapon that forces creatures to attack but now you mention that its actually quite a nice combo.

On the note of this deck i love it you sir are awesome and have created the best Ashiok deck I've seen yet even thought that's not many this is miles ahead. +1

@Eskimole, why would I run Temple of Silence ? It's a B/W dual, and my deck is U/B.

@beakedbard and mahlonn, thanks a ton for your compliments.

maybe Lost in a Labyrinth over Wring Flesh in the sideboard? if you're looking for some extra scry it might be worth it, most of your deck is blue anyway...I like the way this turned out...mines similar but I kept white. I also have Read the Bones in mine as well, you may want to drop 1 Thoughtseize and 1 Dissolve for a couple because you don't have a draw source. You may not need it in playtesting but I'm sure it couldn't hurt.
