I would run Training Grounds . That would help cut the cost of your abilities.

Okay and what do you suggest I remove for two of the Training Grounds ?

Gilder Bairn says hi.

You might opt for some ramp spells instead of Cancel to help field your larger creatures sooner. You don't really have a powerful early-game defense...

You could go Bant and include Gavony Township , but it's a stretch if you can't find anything useful in white.

January 8, 2012 6:37 p.m.

That does sound like a good card, but I'd have to find a way to tap Gilder Bairn without swinging with it, which I have no means of doing with this deck (with the exception of regenerating it).

The Cancel help keep my opponent at bay while I pump up my creatures with Proliferate and Graft. Turn 2 I play Aquastrand Spider . Turn 3 I play Thrummingbird and place a +1/+1 counter on it from Aquastrand Spider . Turn 4 swing in the air for 2 then proliferate them up. I continue doing that while playing other graft cards, plus instant proliferate cards, and I won't have to worry about defense.

Cancel is also good against those who like to directly destroy creatures with cards like Doom Blade and Go for the Throat

You could go with Asceticism or Privileged Position if you're worried about losing things. However, you'll definitely benefit from ramp spells with the mana curve you have...

January 8, 2012 7:49 p.m.

Both sound like good cards, though they cost more and don't necessarily stop things like Wrath of God or Damnation .

For Asceticism , it'd take a little longer to get out, but would help replace the Plaxcaster Frogling and Sporeback Troll . However, then I'd be short of two creatures who both have graft, and with both who cost cheaper. The only benefit I see from that card is I don't have to pay massive mana to use the abilities.

Sorry if I seem to be a pain with this x3

The downfall of kraj is its CMC, but i would try to add a combo of Gilder BairnMTG Card: Gilder Bairn and Experiment KrajMTG Card: Experiment Kraj. What to take out is a different story. i would take out 2 Helium SquirterMTG Card: Helium Squirters for the bairn and a thrummingbird for the kraj. but, i would definately test it before the decision is made

January 19, 2012 5:27 p.m.

The problem with taking out a ThrummingbirdMTG Card: Thrummingbird is that it's a good combo with Aquastrand SpiderMTG Card: Aquastrand Spider for the start of the game. Plus it's a flyer, so it isn't always easily dealt with in combat.

That isn't a bad combo, but I pretty much can do that combo already, but with ALL permanents that have +1/+1 counters on them by proliferating.

Seems good. Only two things I might say would be that DissipateMTG Card: Dissipate is strictly better than CancelMTG Card: Cancel!

Alright :3 Thanks

Contagion EngineMTG Card: Contagion Engine or Contagion ClaspMTG Card: Contagion Clasp for some board control as well proliferate?

March 4, 2012 6:50 p.m.

I did think about that, but test playing the deck, these creatures can get pretty huge pretty fast, to the point where I really don't care what they play :3

It doesn't really fit the theme all the much but in my G/U deck (unposted) I have Artful DodgeMTG Card: Artful Dodge and my GOD it's brutal also Giant FanMTG Card: Giant Fan for lolz. (just in case you need to move a counter so you can activate an ability.)

March 12, 2012 12:31 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #16

Also, Somberwald SpiderMTG Card: Somberwald Spider instead of the Festerhide BoarMTG Card: Festerhide Boar (I just like the way it would work better personally)

March 12, 2012 12:33 p.m.

No need to make it unblockable. These things get so big that with Cytospawn ShamblerMTG Card: Cytospawn Shambler I can still deal massive damage.

Turn 13: you have a 37/37 on the fieldTurn 14: 37/37 becomes a 74/74 :3

Of course, using Plaxcaster FroglingMTG Card: Plaxcaster Frogling and Sporeback TrollMTG Card: Sporeback Troll to keep my creatures alive and stall my opponent, not to mention all the proliferating from Inexorable TideMTG Card: Inexorable Tide and other spells. Then use Aquastrand SpiderMTG Card: Aquastrand Spider for Flyers, and Cytoplast Root-KinMTG Card: Cytoplast Root-Kin just in acse a creature is in danger of dying :3

To add some SleepMTG Card: Sleeps, i would probably take out a counterspell and one creature...but i'm still not sure. I would playtest to see what works for you.

March 18, 2012 1:03 p.m.

You might be able to make use of Oran-Rief, the VastwoodMTG Card: Oran-Rief, the Vastwood

March 18, 2012 1:30 p.m.

@Zarum: Hmmm, only problem with removing a creature is that I'm already short ended on them. Most the time when going up against control decks or black decks, my creatures get enchanted or die quickly.

I probably could take out one DissipateMTG Card: Dissipate and something else though.

@platinum_demon: Llanowar RebornMTG Card: Llanowar Reborn is a lot better, because I can drop it turn one and turn two play Aquastrand SpiderMTG Card: Aquastrand Spider or ThrummingbirdMTG Card: Thrummingbird and move the counter to the creature. Also, a big combo for early game is Aquastrand SpiderMTG Card: Aquastrand Spider then ThrummingbirdMTG Card: Thrummingbird to pump up the bird as it flies over the opponent, proliferating both bird and spider. Can't use Oran-Rief, the VastwoodMTG Card: Oran-Rief, the Vastwood on ThrummingbirdMTG Card: Thrummingbird, so it would only hinder the deck early game.

every time i look at the graft rules text i cant help but think of wash from firefly: "we will rule over all this land, and we will call it..... this land!"

March 18, 2012 1:43 p.m.

@Ohthenoises: XD Any suggestions on making room for a couple SleepMTG Card: Sleeps

I like this one, but have you tried Contagion ClaspMTG Card: Contagion Clasp or Contagion EngineMTG Card: Contagion Engine? These may be a bit high on cast cost, but they are nice for the extra proliferate. :) Definite +1.

March 27, 2012 9:36 p.m.

Between the Tezzeret's GambitMTG Card: Tezzeret's Gambits, the ThrummingbirdMTG Card: Thrummingbirds, the Inexorable TideMTG Card: Inexorable Tides, and the Steady ProgressMTG Card: Steady Progresses, Fuel for the CauseMTG Card: Fuel for the Causes and Evolution VatMTG Card: Evolution Vat's ability, I think there is enough counter production in the deck.

I have thought about it, and people have suggested it, but the deck runs pretty good without them.
