Your tokens will win. If I can't get the pump quick enough (even though sometimes I can with devastating damage early game), then I cannot force you to block or stall for SleepMTG Card: Sleep. It's bad against token decks.

or you could use Engineered ExplosivesMTG Card: Engineered Explosives

This is Modern deck, and I don't think that is modern legal.

I'm aware this is a modern deck. Engineered ExplosivesMTG Card: Engineered Explosives is modern legal, because it is in the Mirrodin block.

Oh, alright. Didn't know. I'm still new to the formats and such

It's all about the Doubling SeasonMTG Card: Doubling Season. Also consider looking into spikes. I think there's like 1-2 modern legal spike creatures.

April 12, 2012 1:52 p.m.

Evolution VatMTG Card: Evolution Vat is a bit better because each time it doubles them. Doubling SeasonMTG Card: Doubling Season only doubles the single counter that comes into play.

What do you mean by spike creatures?

Well, Doubling SeasonMTG Card: Doubling Season would also help out your Evolution VatMTG Card: Evolution Vat by doubling again on top of vat's ability. Also, you should try throwing in creatures with persist from shadowmoor block (ex. Kitchen FinksMTG Card: Kitchen Finks). +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters cancel each other out now, so your graft guys would be able to help out your persist guys.

Spikes are older creatures that are sort of like graft creatures. Just look up cards with the spike creature type.

I keep this from going an older than the Ravnica block.

As for the Persist, not needed. I won't lose creatures except for board wipes or kill spells, and the kill spells can be rid of with Plaxcaster FroglingMTG Card: Plaxcaster Frogling and the board wipes with Fuel for the CauseMTG Card: Fuel for the Cause

I could definitely see a couple of creatures from alara working here... as you said... one of the decks problems could be board wipes and kill spells. Sure enough you have solutions to them, though the power 5 or greater beasts could provequite effective with the creature growth in this deck... namely Spearbreaker Behemoth and/or Paleoloth

+1

June 24, 2012 6:45 p.m.

Paleoloth doesn't work except with Cytospawn Shambler , because the other creatures are already in play when they become 5/X. Grafting, unless you can reverse the stack so the graft resolves before []Paleololth]].

However, Spearbreaker Behemoth migfht be a good one for the deck. Any suggestions on what to remove for 2-3 of them?

Also thanks for the +1

i see where sleep and fog come in handy, not entirely sure... maybe the coatl or the shambler, I see the combos with the coatl but i dont see the shambler being of any use until later on when all the creatures are sufficiently beefed up, even then trample isnt really necessary when you can just sleep past the opponent's creatures.

I'd even look at maybe adding Beast Within seeing as you don't really have much removal either, which could prove troublesome against non-creature permanents.

June 24, 2012 8:27 p.m.

Trust me, without trample, token decks run all over this one. If they block with a single chump, then in response give it trample, MAJOR damage still gets dealt. Plus it takes 7 to get him out, enough time to buff up my creatures.

I do like the suggestion of Beast Within in this deck. So what would you suggest I remove and how much for what and how much?

i'm not the best guy to ask on this. what doesn't work well, or is relatively situational in the deck? maybe sideboard the shambler? token decks tend to have more permanents than Beast Within can handle anyway

Swap Sleep with Mirrorweave for a one-sided boardwipe. Creatures with +1/+1 counters or buffs from equipment/enchantments will survive while the rest will just become 0/0 creatures with inconsequential graft

October 1, 2012 8:01 a.m.

Ah, that IS good :3 I only hesitate to add it cause of the fact I NEED two blue instead of just worrying about the quantity of mana, but well worth it. I may just do that.

gheridarigaaz says... #19

Huh? It practically costs the same as sleep except its hybrid mana

very solid! i would (as you said on my grafting deck) think about Murkfiend Liege , or maybe a few Favor of the Overbeing s. i think im going to steal your Evolution Vat idea too haha. +1

October 12, 2012 4:54 p.m.

Thanks for the +1 and suggestions. I wanna add the Liege, but no idea what to drop. The Beast Within s aren't really doing too much, and my best removal is Mirrorweave and Contagion Engine . Yeah, I'll remove the Beast Within s for Murkfiend Liege .

I'd like to see Primordial Hydra somewhere in this deck. And +1 for the way you use Mirrorweave .

have you tested this against other modern decks? it seems to play really slow and lacks ways to deal with most things modern archtypes would throw at it. Or do you mean this to be a part of the casual format?
