This is my first MTG deck that I've built on my own. It is a mono-black deck and the main strategy is to be able to constantly sacrifice or block with creatures so that they die and their triggered abilities help you. Then you can bring them back to life and repeat the process. The Palace Sieges and Zulaport Cutthroats will allow you to gain life and deal damage to your opponent without actually attacking and putting creatures in unwanted danger. This way you control the battlefield and make your opponent worry about being blocked and killing more of your creatures every turn. Once you have enough mana you can play creatures like Deathbringer Regent, Liliana, Heretical Healer  /Defiant Necromancer, Nightmare, and Archfiend of Depravity to finish off any remaining health your opponent has. Ghastly Conscription can also be used to manifest an entire graveyard late in the game for a huge army to fight, block, or even be sacrificed to strengthen a Nantuko Husk to finish the game.
