Your CaveBoy is back with another variation of sacrificing creatures for profit!
This time, I’m trying out some new demons that will mix up my offense and defense. I’m considering making it mono-black but Bitter Reunion is to good for the two demons I’m mobilizing. If you had advice, please help me make more of the red side of it. Thud could potentially be pretty good with Feaster of Fools but I don’t think that’s worth adding if he’s the only one.
I’m working with Feaster of Fools and Death-Rattle Oni this time. Demon of Death’s Gate is an option but I want EXP with this build first before putting him in. 6 life is a steppe price when you aren’t gaining life.
Feaster of Fools is awesome because I can cast it without mana, and potentially have it stronger that 10/10 in most cases. With the creatures I have chosen, I can get back all I devoured with him cheaply. If I have Bitter Ordeal on the board, I can then swing with the Feaster and all the creatures sacrificed to it sometimes. (Must… resist… thud…)
Death-Rattle Oni is a fix to a long standing problem I’ve had with this style of deck with all these wimpy 2/1 creatures. Once my enemy has 3 toughness blockers, it impossible to break through. DNO can let me swing out, and if they block and kill my guys, I can play it for 1 mana and kill a bunch of creatures. It has flash too so if I spend a turn blocking, I can still ruin my enemies board. Using Bone Shares, I can typically reduce his cost by 4 at least. And I use Village Rites which helps too.
I’m on the fence about Geralf’s Messenger. It’s a good creature to use as sacrificing and the “lose 2 life” is helpful, but it’s entering tapped makes it not synergies with Bitter Reunion and it doesn’t come back from the grave like Gravecrawler. I need zombies for gravecrawler and Cryptbreaker. If I replace it, I hope to keep it zombie.
