I really enjoy playing soul sisters, so I've been brewing some different versions of it. This is how it started. Now that I got some money with FNM and other Modern tournaments, I started brewing with other colors. If you liked this one, check out Selesnya Sisters, Boros Sisters and Azorius Sisters.
Your win contitions are:
Ajani's Pridemate, one of the key cards in any Soul Sisters deck. Combined with Soul Warden or Soul's Attendant, it gets huge really fast. It rarely enters the battlefield with less than one +1/+1 counter.
Sorin, Solemn Visitor can make the cat bigger and give it lifelink so you can heal yourself for 10HP. When paired with Vizkopa Guildmage can easily make you deal 10+ damage.
Gideon, Ally of Zendikar has 3 excellent habilities, great 4 drop that generates 2/2 tokens and can make your creatures bigger.
Other cards:
Ajani Steadfast can pump your whole team, and your other Planeswalkers! His +1 is pretty nice too and his ultimate is no joke.
Tidehollow Sculler is a flexible removal that exiles stuff before it even hits the table. Usually best used to take out non-creature cards.
Zealous Persecution will sometimes wipe the board and can also make you swing for a lot of damage with spirit tokens and even sisters.
Lingering Souls generates a lot of tokens, both for defense and to boost your pridemate.
Dismember is one of the best removal spells for this deck. Who cares about losing 4HP? Not me.
Now experimenting with Aven Mindcensor instead of Vizkopa Guildmage. I noticed I couldn't always get the Vizkopa Guildmage going, so I thought that I would be able to make more use out of the new card. Only experimenting with it, tho. If you have a better card for value, I would greatly appreciate the tip!
Sideboard:
Stony Silence may make affinity players give up if you play it turn 2. Also very useful against Tron.
Pithing Needle can shut down the Melira/Anafenza + Finks/Redcap combo without having to exile your graveyard, so you can play your precious Lingering Souls.
Rest in Peace for graveyard strategies.
Leyline of Sanctity stops storm combo, discard, milling and makes burn even easier. God bless the man who made this card.
Celestial Flare
grants you even more removal. Similar to Dismember, but goes past protection from color and hexproof.
Sundering Growth is flexible, instant speed and creates another token if you already have one in the battlefield.
Sinergies and cool combos:
Ajani's Pridemate
+
Soul Warden
+
Soul's Attendant
Should be pretty obvious. If you have two soul sisters on the field and Ajani's Pridemate enters, he will already gain two +1/+1 counters.
Lingering Souls
+
Soul Warden
+
Vizkopa Guildmage
can be a pain in the butt. You activate the Vizkopa Guildmage second ability and play your Lingering Souls for damage.
Lingering Souls
+
Sorin, Solemn Visitor
+
Vizkopa Guildmage
can hit for stupid amounts of damage. Let's say you have four tokens on the field and Sorin. You play Vizkopa Guildmage, pay for it's second ability, +1 Sorin and attack with the tokens, giving you 8 HP and 8 to 16 damage on them.
Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.
For budgeting this deck:
Remove the Auriok Champions, add one of each Soul Sisters. You're still left with one extra card, you might add a 1 extra card, maybe a 3 or 4 drop for extra threats.
Instead of fetch lands, you can run Flagstones of Trokair (still quite expensive but it's important to filter your deck).Instead of shock lands, you can run Caves of Koilos.
I'm afraid the rest is too important to remove. The side is only a guideline and that's what I'm using because of the meta around me. If you don't face Storm, burn or discard-heavy decks, for instance, you don't need Leyline of Sanctity.
