This deck is a mix of my other modern decks I've been playing around with recently. I've taken my current modern deck to some tournaments and done moderately well. I've decided to make some changes to make it more competitive, fast, and overall consistent.

MAIN WIN CONDITION CARDS

This deck revolves around its main win conditions of Immolating Souleater and Death's Shadow. It works of the same combo as my previous decks with Immolating Souleater but I've realized that I had very little win conditions and only a couple of cards to work with. There is a good combo turn 3 with Immolating Souleater ,Children of Korlis, and Tainted Strike. Obviously I pay almost all my life, regain it with the children then pay it again for the souleater to be pretty buff. Tainted Strike adds in extra damage and posion counters if I'm running low on resources.

Now the problem is if that combo doesn't work, normally I would have no other win conditions. That is where Death's Shadow comes in. It works when I have very low life after a souleater combo and works wonderfully with Phyrexian Unlife. Unlife is really important in this deck since it gives me so much more resources to work with and lets me not worry as much for my life when dealing with the souleater and makes it easier to stay in the game with Death's Shadow It can also be an early game finisher with Plunge into Darkness to easily lose life early.

HELP

Early Gitaxian Probes will help with searching my deck for possible needed cards or extra option for free (essentially). Rite of Consumption works well with Death's Shadow as well as the souleater for an easy combo win. Gather the Townsfolk offers extra stall and bodies and is really great when I'm low. Postmortem Lunge offers excellent surprises and comebacks. I can turn one Death's Shadow then use Postmortem Lunge when I get low for a surprise hasty shadow with a possible tainted strike.
