If you wanna be really cheezy, use Touch of Darkness . 1 mana instant Plague Wind !!

Thanks boobsandbutts, but I already have that card in there.

Just a quick note about Profane Command . you've listed it under spot removal but with Horobi out the mode "up to X target creatures gain fear" becomes another Plague Wind effect. It can do significantly more than the other cards you've listed in that point.
April 28, 2014 9:49 a.m.
I listed it under spot kill because it targets, and there is a limited number of targets that can be chosen. It's not like Touch of Darkness where there is a set mana cost and it will kill everything I wish. I have to sink mana in for each target.

Cool just wanted to make sure you were aware. Have you considered Darksteel Garrison ? It protects valuable resources like Cabal Coffers and Volrath's Stronghold and let's you pick of creatures practically for free. Another land you can use is Desert , it's not as good as Maze of Ith but it's not terrible.

Shadow Alley Denizen , turns every black creature into a kill spell, think about it with Grave Betrayal before you dismiss it for being a 1/1
Lim-Dul the Necromancer similar to Grave Betrayal
don't overlook the guy who said Kuro, Pitlord , great synergy w/ Horobi
Karn, Silver Golem is just going to be another Xenic Poltergeist with a better body, I'd include it just for that.
Breeding Pit is also good for keeping Eldrazi Monument going
Mycosynth Lattice could go great with afore mentioned combos as well as Darksteel Forge , and the forge on its own would protect any artifact creatures you're running.
put in Fated Return , it's not necessarily for taking something big out of your opponents graveyard, it's for pulling out a small combo-piece creature that died early since your commander turns the whole field into a slaughterfest.

@leppa790 : The issue with Darksteel Garrison is that is is a must ability, not a may. So if I cleared my opponents' board and still have Horobi, Death's Wail on the board, then I would have to lose a creature if i wanted to use that land. And Desert would really only have a use with Horobi, Death's Wail out. Otherwise, it's just a colorless land.
@sonnet666 : Shadow Alley Denizen and Breeding Pit are very lack-luster pieces on their own so I'm not overly willing to make them fit. I get roughly the same effect of Kuro, Pitlord from Hex Parasite (it's 2 life instead of one, but I can also use mana if I had extra, and it doesn't have a high casting cost or upkeep cost). I do like Karn, Silver Golem and Lim-Dul the Necromancer , but it just comes down to a what to cut problem.Mycosynth Lattice is nice, especially when paired with Darksteel Forge , but it just doesn't do enough on its own in the deck as I don't care too much about artifacts (unless I make room for Karn, Silver Golem , then I might highly consider making room for it). I am really on edge about Fated Return . If anything, I really like that addition of indestructibility. I'm just not too sure about that cost.
Thanks for all your feedback.

Hey, have you thought about replacing Consume the Meek and Hideous Laughter with something a little more solid, in case Horobi got tucked or something. Damnation , Overwhelming Forces (there is a promo version for $20), and Decree of Pain are a little more efficient board wipes.
May 16, 2014 5:49 p.m.
I've been thinking of replacing Hideous Laughter with Decree of Pain , but I like having Consume the Meek in there (especially against elves). Instant speed solutions are always nice.
Blood Artist and Falkenrath Noble need to stay on the field to be effective. The deck doesn't like letting creatures live.

That's fine. I just think Decree of Pain can often win a game by itself, haha.

So the one thing I'm trying to grasp in this deck is the choice of Snow-Covered Swamp over the regular Swamp . You run the Snow swamp to capitalize on when one of your opponents is trying to be crafty with Extraplanar Lens right?
June 8, 2014 4:20 a.m.
Yea, I don't have a need for Extraplanar Lens to take up a slot in the deck, but when most people run it, they run snow-covered lands. Plus, I like the art on them, they're a consistent art (not having different arts for the "same" card), and they can be foil.
June 8, 2014 5:21 a.m.
I had Cavern of Souls in there originally because I had more spirits and I didn't like to have Horobi, Death's Wail get countered (I've been considering replacing that lately). Darksteel Citadel is a guaranteed land when facing land destruction.

I have an Horobi deck myself, and there's a card I would suggest, that makes the deck absolutely funnier...
It's a recent card, called Fated Return . If Horobi gets targeted (and he will, because no one except you likes Horobi on the board), send him to the graveyard, and bring him back, this time with a sweet permanent Indestructible.
Now the fun begins XD
June 29, 2014 1:26 a.m.
Also, Slaughter Pact is a fun removal, as it's cost is 0. And if you have Horobi in play, you cast your slaughter Pact, Horobi kills via target, slaughter pact fizzles and goes to the graveyard... Without you having to pay your 3 mana the turn after :)

I have some suggestions.
You need some more draw. Phyrexian Arena , Necropotence
Some more ramp. Nirkana Revenant , Magus of the Coffers
You could do some more tutors too. Increasing Ambition , Demonic Collusion , Diabolic Revelation , Liliana Vess
August 5, 2014 11:54 a.m.
Sheoldred, Whispering One It brings back sack fodder for the monument, undermines all your opponents, and with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth hits for six until answered.
August 13, 2014 3:56 p.m.
Just a few suggestions, take them as you may: Bounty Hunter , Cemetery Reaper , Darkblast , Diabolic Tutor , Diabolic Intent , Dragon Blood , Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder , Endless Whispers , Imps' Taunt , Skirk Ridge Exhumer , Unspeakable Symbol , Xathrid Gorgon , Abhorrent Overlord + Akroan Horse could be good token makers and then you can destory them at will.

Darksteel Plate because being a douche is the fun thing to do.
September 24, 2014 10:44 p.m.
Darksteel Plate isn't as good as you might think. I have to equip it before I get Horobi, Death's Wail out, otherwise they would die from being targeted by the equip ability. Once I do have it on someone, if they get a Path to Exile to the face or even just lose the equipment briefly, I would have to find a way to remove Horobi, Death's Wail from the field then bring him back after equipping again.

Then how about Soul of New Phyrexia ? Though that might be a bit too slow for your deck.
