The most fun to be had with someone else's deck!

This stockpiles and steals cards using cards such as Bane Alley Broker , Nightveil Specter, Evil Twin, and Lazav, Dimir Mastermind, turning their cards against them and always having a huge card advantage, even without having to make them discard cards.

Notion Thief assures that no draw card effects slip by, as well as brings a whole new meaning to the already useful Sign in Blood (target the opponent and steal the cards he is supposed to draw!!).

Aside from the lands, this deck IS budget. Just leave out the Cavern of Souls and dual lands, it costs a lot less then

Duress: This comes in against control. Obviously, it's a cheap way to get pick apart the opponents hand early-game or to get rid of that counterspell they're holding on to.
Knight of Infamy: Also comes in against most control. Pro-white means goodbye to all the Oblivion Rings, Detention Spheres, Azorius Charms, and whatnot, and likely means a turn 2 swinging for 3, making the deck a tad faster when you're in it for the long haul with control.
Essence Scatter: Obviously this is for creature-heavy decks. Had Bant Hexproof in mind with this one.
Pithing Needle: A couple uses here. Obviously, there is a combo between this card and Soul Ransom, so there's one, obviously for creature heavy decks. Another use for this is that ever so annoying AEtherling that always seems to be the death of me at FNM. Maybe a little specific, but sometimes it's worth it.
Soul Ransom Not much to say. Pithing Needle. Meh.
