Well if the deck is built around Undead Alchemist , it might make more sense to add in spells to protect it or bring it back. What do you think of Ghoulcaller's Chant ?
Also, I actually purchased the cards last night so I'm looking forward to play testing when they come in lol

Great suggestions! I have to decide.. Ghoulcaller's Chant (that was in a previous version of this deck), Sleep or maybe Thought Scour ..

I also found something for the draw power:
Blue Sun's Zenith , Brain Pry , Brainbite , Brainstorm , Concentrate , Consult the Necrosages , Cremate , Crippling Chill , Cryptic Command , Deep Analysis , Distant Melody (great in a tribal deck), Distant Memories , and obviously Think Twice . What you think it's better? I like Distant Melody a lot

-2 Dragon Throne of Tarkir , -3 Undying Evil ==> +1 Geralf's Mindcrusher , +4 Robe of Mirrors

Personally I really like Cryptic Command but that's like a $50 card, would break a budget build lol.
Brainstorm looks pretty good, it's 1 mana instant for card draw and scry 2, and could combo well with Jace's ability.
I like the idea of Distant Melody , but you would probably have to move away from spells that do straight milling and get more cards that generate more zombies or can protect and/or bring them back from the graveyard. Which means bring back Undying Evil (and it fits the theme too!).
Crippling Chill can help deal with the creatures with evasion or really big threats, a little bit of control is always nice, and it lets zombies through for more mill.
Consult the Necrosages looks very versatile, I personally would choose this because it would be fun to put someone really behind on turn 3 or try and get better cards I need in my hand.
October 24, 2014 10:54 a.m.
I preferred to put Robe of Mirrors instead of Undying Evil because it will provide a constant protection for the same CMC.. But I have to playtest it yet, like the rest of the deck lol. What should I take out for Consult the Necrosages or Brainstorm ? I can't thank you enough for the help!

Well I am also just theory crafting with you, I'm hoping the cards I ordered will come in soon so I can play test the deck with friends. Hopefully more people can upvote and offer suggestions as well because I am really looking forward to using this deck lol.
Personally I still vouch for your original suggestion of Undying Evil , because you can bring something back and trigger the effect on Altar of the Brood , and your opponent basically "wasted" a card to try and remove your creature (instead of giving your opponent a chance to save their removal for an unprotected creature).
October 24, 2014 2:27 p.m.
You're right! I modified the deck: 4 Undying Evil , 2 Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker . Not a zombie, but can fill nicely the lack of 5-drops of the deck.
October 26, 2014 9:22 a.m.
3 Negate over 2 Ghoulraiser and 1 Undying Evil , because prevent is better than cure

Hey there! Would like to know why you removed Ashiok out of curiosity. I like the card a lot and was thinking about using this deck with it. Is she simply not as good as Jace?
November 1, 2014 9:03 p.m.
So, without any doubt, Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver is great. He will permanently remove dangerous cards, 3 mill per turn, he will get his hand and play his own creatures. This deck changed a lot: before was something like "steal creatures and spells (see Psychic Intrusion ) and get zombies to win". Now it's like "don't mill in the early-mid game, control and shut down every opponent's strategy, and when you get a big threat like the Alchemist, Mirko Vosk or Jace finish him in 4 turns". So, you can see that Jace, Memory Adept 's second ability it's just perfect. I feel like this is not the right place for Ashiok. I think that he's one of the best mill/control planeswalkers, but in this deck I need more the solidity of 10 mill per turn with Jace, Memory Adept . But if you want to keep Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver , it would surely help trying to remove important pieces in the early game, in a more control-ish vision. :)

Considering how you built this deck around Undead Alchemist, you should probably go for Wight of Precinct Six. It fits perfectly; the more you mill, the bigger it gets. The bigger it gets, the more you mill. :D

ppledger, the Undead Alchemist causes you to exile milled creature cards, so the Wight of Precinct Six can't work with it, I'm afraid. Otherwise, that would be an awesome combo.

Yeah that's true :/ anyway, thanks for the suggestion! Added 4 Wall of Frost, because I always have too many removals and counterspells in the hand, and this wall could be a great defence until the middle / late game

Looks really great, very similar to my friend's deck based on the Alchemist. If there's anything I can suggest, maybe you can add one expensive, but definitely finishing combo with Keening Stone after casting Traumatize, or even without it. If you would, then with 6 artifacts Phylactery Lich is always a good option ;)
November 8, 2014 6:04 a.m.
Thanks for the comment and the upvote! :) So, I think that Phylactery Lich is great, but doesn't fit well in this deck. I only have a few creatures that are fundamental in the mill. Even if I'd cut Wall of Frost for the lich, and even if I'd drop a turn 1 Altar of the Brood, the triple black in the mana cost is a problem. So I don't think it will find place here.. Instead, I really like Keening Stone! Maybe it's a bit too slow, but can fit well in the mana curve. What should I take out for it?
November 8, 2014 8:52 a.m.
Well, it's up to you, maybe you should put it to the sideboard and then exchange it, if opponent plays passive enough to start the combo, for 1 Wall and 1 Negate? Your call - it's still quite expensive, but you've seen the profits :)

Finally got my cards and it's been so much fun playing zombie mill! Here's my current deck list (which was mostly based on your original version actually): Zombie Mill-er Time. Still making some changes, haven't tested out Endless Ranks of the Dead yet, but with the way most of my matches have been going, it looks like it would combo really well with Altar of the Brood.
If you're looking for a wall to fend off early aggression, should probably consider Fog Bank. It's cheaper mana cost, can block flying, and straight up prevents damage.
November 9, 2014 12:45 a.m.
Wiktul I decided to add it to the sideboard! Thanks, I love that card! After a Traumatize is just ridiculous.
Suprek I'm glad you like this deck so much! Now mine is really different from the previous version, I'd like to see how yours will evolve :) btw, Endless Ranks of the Dead can be a finisher in 2 or 3 turns with a pair of Altar of the Brood out! I've ordered this deck online yesterday so I'll let you know how this one works soon! (Fog Bank is really nice! I'll consider it!)

This deck isn't Cruel Control if it has no Cruel Ultimatum. Considered Gravecrawler or Empty the Pits?
November 13, 2014 7:30 p.m.
I consider this a sort of cruel control because I use all the kill spells / counterspells as soon as I can, in the eraly game, to negate a board presence to the opponent. It's not Cruel Control, but I cruelly control the board lol Gravecrawler is way outta my budget per single card, while Empty the Pits is kinda useless here, because I usually put 50-60 zombies out in the 6-7 turn. Thanks for the comment though!

I really love the entire idea of this deck, I was going to buy a milling deck that i figured would cost 250$ and it was a long term goal but it seems like most others have (fairly) derp creatures with powerful/expensive sorceries like Glimpse the Unthinkable that just mill a ton without really comboing with anything.. That seems so boring compared to yours and now probably gonna buy your deck to try a milling deck that i can actually afford lol.
I wanted a deck that can survive early game and mill out someone pretty fast( by like turn 6 on a good game) and i think your deck fits my preferred style better than my previous favorite Mill deck I found:
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/rock-n-mill-and-a-list-of-all-mtgs-mill-cards/.
Im not really fit to recommend cards since i've never tried to mill before but it seems like the previous commentors helped a ton to perfect this already! I should love this as my first milling deck.

Even something like Sleep seems a lot more useful than 9 mana you have to dump into the throne to make it do anything. Sleep is a decent idea to make the zombies punch through, also, some main deck draw will be great. Compulsive Research or Think Twice will be great there.
