Jamesfurrow Uhm... I don't know how to say this without coming off like an ass... so just don't take it that way, but did you mean "why the hell would I sideboard her?" or "what is this 'sideboard' thing you speak of?"

Its fine im typing on my ipad and i turned the auto correct off because it screws up the card names too often and i ment "what do you mean by sideboard" as in an indirect reference to her because with no suggestion it doesnt even seem like a valid option for the aggro the deck wants

Cool, just checking (the ambiguity wasn't made any better by the fact that you don't have a sideboard posted yet lol).

I actually still lean towards agreeing scrotality on this one though, Ash Zealot is great but may wind up having less impact than you're anticipating. Only playtesting will tell though, perhaps you will generally keep their board clear for her to smash through.

well honestly (and this is just my opinion of course) i would generally prefer to mainboard something that i think is going to have a statistically higher probability of screwing over my opponent. this is kind of a bad example but the first thing that comes to mind is Gatekeeper of Malakir . wait till you can kick it, sac their creature, strip creature from deck. if your opponent isn't pulling graveyard shenanigans then yea a 2/2 first strike dumb beater is pretty solid still. haste is good. there's 8 other 2/2 for 2 first strike critters in modern right now, most with better abilities than haste.

thats just my $.02. she's a solid card and when i first saw her in your deck i was like 'hell yea! screw 'murica control!' then i thought about it and was thinking hm. what about affinity, dredge, 8rack, etc.

that said, i really like the direction your deck is going :) solid list, man

Ah makes sence now scrotality ill def consider some other two drops like malikir i have used before comboed Blood Artist to make extreme life loss occur. I might use something like Hand of Cruelty due to pro white snd first strike

scrotality im really torn apart at what be a good one or two drop red or black creature to be a replacement for ash and i decided dreadbore would be in my main board because i own a play set of them already and it be cheaper on me and just as effective. Any suggestions on 1 or 2 drop creatures for a replace, emt over Ash Zealot ? Amy ones advice be apreciated

I recently just saw Young Pyromancer and i think she be the creature i swap ash out with if im up agaisnt an aggro deck so i then have tokens to block with and get damage through

May 11, 2014 6:39 p.m.

SwampHippie says... #8

I approve of the Dreadbore . Young Pyromancer should be excellent choice actually she makes all of you discards spells actually produce card advantage.

grumbledore says... #9

yea Young Pyromancer is a beast! she's a huge target and hard to keep alive; I generally try to only have one out in play at a time and have 1 in hand if possible lol. but yea i think thats a great choice.

lol too much "actually" in my last post, I must be tired.

Agreed scrotality, Young Pyromancer is a removal magnet so the worst case scenario would be another card in their grave to Extirpate ... then play the next pyro!

Jamesfurrow says... #11

Yeaa i like her for control match ups as ash will destroy other aggro's due to her speec and power. Young simply draws out their removal for me to snatch

May 12, 2014 9:35 p.m.

grumbledore says... #12

Totally. Even if she is just countered, you can then strip out their counters. Bye bye cryptic command lol

May 12, 2014 9:45 p.m.

Jamesfurrow says... #13

Exactly my thought process annnd it let me rips un counterable spells like virdect too

Jamesfurrow says... #14

So if she sticks and makes an army they are gona have to blow up the feild for me to just rip it out of their deck after

Browbeat and Shrieking Affliction . Tyrannize is super funny late game. Rakdos's Return should be in. Consider it as a fireball with a bonus. Its a useful card early or late-game.

AshenRider says... #16

Wouldn't Ash Zealot smack you upside the head for Raven's Crime ?

May 16, 2014 11:06 p.m.

grumbledore says... #17

ohhh snap. yeah thats a deal breaker lol.

May 16, 2014 11:11 p.m.

Jamesfurrow says... #18

AshenRider i already know ash would hurt me if i retrace it often but when its for making sure they stay tapped out of cards its worth dealing three to myself when i have card and feild advantage. Plus rakdos return while a good late game card is a dead draw compared to Blighting which guarenties turn 3 most of their cards gone if not all of them for 5 mana id get the same result with return

May 16, 2014 11:42 p.m.

Jamesfurrow says... #19

Also Tyrannize is simply too laate and at the point id cast it theirs no hand or its one card left so it wouldnt ever effectively be used but Browbeat is worth looking into. That card could help win me games two different ways burn ir more discard

May 16, 2014 11:48 p.m.

AshenRider says... #20

You have discard but you have no synergy with it... your win condition is slowly hammering away. I have to recommend Shrieking Affliction as a 1 mana enchantment that decimates opponents

Jamesfurrow says... #21

AshenRider thank you for having taking a look at the deck and i took some of ur suggestions and incorperated them into the deck hoping it makes a little more synergized with the discard hurting the opponent. I also like the fact i can beat down the opponent with this deck incase shreiking wont work and brow helps keep damage or hand advantage

Nyxathid in a fast paced deck like yours would work wonders. Dynacharge and Assault Strobe work wonders. Bump in the Night is essentially a lightning bolt.

grumbledore says... #23

AshenRider damn dude, excellent suggestions.

May 17, 2014 12:02 a.m.

AshenRider says... #24

Dark Ritual and Pyretic Ritual /Desperate Ritual would make this deck stupidly fast...

May 17, 2014 12:05 a.m.

Jamesfurrow says... #25

AshenRider [nxyathid]is strong but a three drop and im trying to keep my curve insainely low so its not a problem on my land count and i dont like dnya or charge because then im relying more on their feild staying open and removing slots for hand disruption to go off.. Great cards just not making it easy for the deck to stay fast paced and a low curve to play it is critical for me
