First and foremost this is a budget deck. Outside of Dromoka and Arashin Sovereign, there are no rares in this deck, and I would like to keep this deck as rare free as possible. The idea behind this deck is to use the defenders and sorceries to ramp into dragons early and have Dromoka boost the dragons and defenders to either attack or defend more efficiently.
Reason for cards in main deck:
Destructor Dragon
provides a dragon to benefit from Dromoka's ability. And if it get killed I can destroy something an opponent controls.
Dromoka, the Eternal
gives my dragons the ability to make my creatures more lethal.
Enduring Scalelord can benefit from bolster even if it is not the target. If 2 are out, then they can become huge.
Overgrown Battlement provides good mana ramp, which gets better the more defenders on on the field.
Perimeter Captain
is in the deck because it is a cheap defender with solid stats that can provide life gain against aggro.
Vine Trellis
helps to boost Overgrown Battlement's mana production while also contributing it's own.
Nissa's Pilgrimage provides good mana ramp and helps thin out the deck a bit.
Oblivion Ring allows me some measure of defense against an opponent, giving me the chance to interfere with their plans.
Rampant Growth is another source of mana ramp that helps to thin out the deck.
Selesnya Charm
offers variety. It can be a creature, a combat trick, or removal of an opponent's endgame creature.
Reasons for cards in side deck:
Arashin Sovereign
provides help against destruction by being able to return to the battle field after it has been destroyed.
Gleeful Sabotage provides the ability to destroy up to 2 artifacts or enchantments.
Journey to Nowhere
gives more control, but only for creatures.
Leave No Trace
can remove multiple enchantments at once.
Orator of Ojutai
is another defender that helps Overgrown Battlement. And it has flier, which can make it more useful in situations over Perimeter Captain or Vine Trellis.
Path to Exile is here for it's ability to remove troublesome creatures. The only drawback is it give the opponent an additional land, but with the ramp this deck is running, that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
