Thanks Voldaren! That was my intention. levimon I think I will add in Vortex Elemental , despite the fact that it doesn't actually have defender.

If you want to add red, there's Vent Sentinel and in white there are Perimeter Captain , Wall of Omens and Stalwart Shield-Bearers .

Wow, Chanceofastorm , you are just helping me out today. I was in fact trying to add red in for Vent Sentinel , but I dont really want to add in mountains. I'm hoping that Axebane Guardian can provide the mana needed as well as Sylvan Caryatid and the unicorns (which i will probably swap out for better cards). Either way ill figure out a way to add these cards in without disrupting the mana too much. Thanks again for the help!

Doorkeeper is pretty cool. Silly milling with the walls. Change your lands to shocks/fetches for best consistency of mana though.

juicytoot I toyed with the idea of the milling, but I feel that with the deck working as it currently does, Doorkeeper won't help me win too much, as it would be the only mill card in the deck. I would need a large amount of defenders and have to have out Doorkeeper for a large number of turns to destroy someone by milling them to death. That being said, it is useful, and I may put in Griptide or Time Ebb in order to put something on top of someone's library, then mill it with Doorkeeper . I'll see how it works. Also shock lands are a good decision.

Wall of Denial is my favorite defender. Although you can't target it yourself.

The Source Wall Playtest
Modern
SCORE: 153 | 16 COMMENTS | 18062 VIEWSfor some ideas. Same concept, just utilizes the defenders for infinite mana in all five colors and then leverages into win cons making any creature a +X/+X trample missile.

Very cool idea. This looks like it could be extremely competitive in the current meta full of creature based decks. +1 for sure!

Great deck! +1
I have a similar defender deck concept. Defending to Annihilation

Maybe add some Misty Rainforest , Scalding Tarn , Arid Mesa , or Marsh Flats instead of your buddy lands? It would give you bettter color consistency if nothing else.

I personally would rather be spending all my mana on an Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or a Kozilek, Butcher of Truth or some other eldrazi then a Colossus of Akros . But that's just me.
August 13, 2014 12:12 a.m.
It seems pretty solid! I used to run Colossus of Akros, but it was more "cute" than good. It was often just dead in my hand, and 18 mana, even in a deck like this is still an investment. The previous suggestion of eldrazis would be a preferrable alternative if budget's not a concern.
As I mentioned in my response to you on my deck, I think too many win conditions is a real problem. Granted, you're not really a control based strategy, though wall-stall is still sort of control. I think 10 win conditions might be just a bit high, since you're almost guaranteed to have at least 1 in your opening hand (which does nothing until you get stupid mana). However, if you feel like you need all 10 main decked, then by all means keep them.
I do worry that you don't have answers to prominent threats in the modern format, such as Planeswalkers and board wipes. That's part of the reason I went with more control using counterspells and Oblivion Ring type effects. I too have a problem with board wipes, but fortunately the problem hasn't occurred yet. When I ran standard defend to death (With Ravnica and Theros) I ran Boros Charm for indestructibility.
Your description mentions Sylvan Caryatid, but I don't see it in your deck. Curious why you would remove it since it's so perfect for this deck, (especially with 5 colors) Also, Drift of Phantasms is an amazing tutor in this deck. gets any 3 drop (like Axebane), or at the very least is an extra 0/5 flying defender.
Recently I've been considering Celestial Colonnade for my deck. The decision would be easier if it wasn't so expensive, but you might also consider it. (win condition that isn't dead in the early hand)
