I like the idea :)

If you find you need more graveyard fuel, Satyr Wayfinder would be pretty good.

How has Soulflayer been performing for you?

August 26, 2015 3:24 p.m.

Thanks tclaw12! I really like Satyr Wayfinder but my concern with running him is that He might dump Soulflayer in the yard. I think I would only run him if I was also running Eternal Witness or Nyx Weaver or some other form of recursion.

@APPLE01DOJ: to be honest I have not play tested this yet. I am going to be testing it on Friday against a Red Deck Wins that went top 8 in regionals last year and a Blue White Control so I'll add an update with how those matches go. I really think this deck is something that will catch a lot of players off guard. Most common sideboard options are geared more towards a reanimator deck and don't have as much impact on this build. The cards that I am worried about are Rest in Peace, and Anafenza, the Foremost. I have some Big Game Hunter's to deal with Anafenza but I might have to throw some additional hate in the sideboard or maybe even mainboard since she is becoming more popular. Thanks for looking and don't forget to +1! :)

@Fingernine, thanks for the suggestions! I don't know what to swap for Gurmag Swiftwing but I definitely want to test him out. I was playing only 20 lands but I tossed in 2 manlands because the modern meta has so much counter magic, same reason I have Hellspark Elemental and Ghor-Clan Rampager main board. I'm still working on the "perfect" balance for mana, maybe the new Battle for Zendikar lands will end up being the way to go, who knows.

Vengevine is really great in this type of shell. You can delve for haste or return a bunch of them back to the field!

I love Vengevine! I'll give it a try and see if he works out. What to take out is the issue. Then if I run Vengevine should I main deck Spark Elemental and sideboard Hellspark Elemental?

yknow.......Golgari Charm is good against twin as well since it will cause exarch's to deal no combat damage and will kill pestermites outright.

Didn't even think of that, thanks for pointing it out!

Big Game Hunter is new to me, what an amazing card for an Alesha, Who Smiles at Death deck. Nyx Weaver would get your cards into the graveyard, though I can see you're looking to control your discarding. +1 for the jund Soulflayer approach.

Hooting Mandrills is a pretty underrated delve card. could be alternative way to put pressure on or be eaten by Soulflayer for trample.

Try Jarad's Orders tutor for Soulflayer and an ability he needs. Good Luck!
