It really doesn't seem like you need black or green in this. Instead of Abrupt Decay you could always swap it out for Echoing Truth Add 4 Cavern of Souls and 4 AEther Vial in order to not let your Faeries get countered. Also the Aether Vial allows you to play creatures without flash on the other person's turn and without using up your mana. I know there are some Faeries that use black mana but I can't remember their names. If you want to keep black in there you could add a few of those and take out the enchantments.

Please read my description, it should give some clarity about my deck setup.

That are some good ideas though, but i do not think that I will use them. Thank you so much for the feedback!!

why the Favorable Winds ??! in a 6000 Dollar deck they look out of place :')

Kaweiwu says... #7

i suggest replacing them with Black Lotus

September 15, 2014 4:42 a.m.

SAKANA-CHAN says... #8

Hi Kaweiwu!!

lol :) yes but Favorable Winds is legacy legal, not Black Lotus . the expensive cards in this deck are the dual lands. They could be changed out with shock lands, like Watery Grave which would drop the price dramatically. the reason i have the expensive dual lands is that parts of the deck is proxed. I only play with my friends and they are hardcore mtg players and play legacy. They do not care if i use proxed lands, as i only play for fun. :) also the deck is very balanced as it is and Favorable Winds is a really good card for this deck. it packs some real punch when you have a bunch of 1/1 tokens from Bitterblossom . promise! :D if i ever was going to start play competitive i would probably use shock lands to keep the price down. Black Lotus is a really broken card arguably the most broken card in mtg, and it is not legal in legacy. This deck is not broken as it is, and i don't like to play with broken decks. so sorry there will never be a black lotus in this deck.

Good day! :D

Hey Sakana, thx for the reply :D I dont think Black Lotus is the best Card in the game or anything, just the most expensive.... A "broken" Card in my Definition is actually something like Bitterblossom ! or Skullclamp or Seat of the Synod . On top of that, Black Lotus would do about as much as a Dark Ritual , not even good if you ask me. I pretty much expected you to not own these Cards, and otherwise would have been a bit shocked (and maybe a bit jealous as well). Advantage after another 2 turns. i cant believe that this is good enough against legacy decks :D. Gitaxian Probe could be interesting for the reason that it reduces the amount of cards in your The deck itself has a great Feeling to IT, only not optimal Card i see is phyrexian Arena. It WAS always a strong card, but it slows you down A turn and only grants card deck effectively to 56 and the peek might be advantegous or however dats spelled. that was a lot of text, but what i want to convey is that my previous comments were a JOKE

somehow the middle part got lost.... it was about Phyrexian Arena being slow

So looking over your deck it would seem your deck is functioning a little different from mine, which is fantastic as variety is what makes this game fun.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of Scion of Oona as its shroud ability makes getting rid of a life threatening Bitterblossom hard. Possibly consider Bad Moon as an alternative for pumping your faeries. But that one is your call.

Delver of Secrets  Flip works much better in your deck than mine as well as you don't have Jace, the Mind Sculptor mucking up your reveals like i did.

Deathrite Shaman in your deck feels out of place. While I'm using him to ramp into high cost control like Vendilion Clique and Jace, the Mind Sculptor I don't see a need for that here, also his other abilities while strong on their own and well worth the merit seem more intended for the slow grind than the fast push your deck strikes me as going for. Possibly consider Dark Confidant or Phyrexian Arena rather than the shaman to dig faster through your deck. Though they also will be sharing that same dwindling life total that Bitterblossom does.

one final thing to consider is Umezawa's Jitte which was an early inclusion in my first rendition of my deck. The thing makes any faerie into a raging demon and you can use the counters to gain life or spot remove threats if the damage boost is less useful. It essentially makes the equipped creature into a planeswalker in its own right.

But like I said I'm all for variety and your deck does function quite a bit differently from mine. So take what I say with a grain of salt.

Ohh thank you so much for the feedback! :D Rythven-Fang :) Bad Moon and Phyrexian Arena have actually been in this deck. :) though i decided to let Phyrexian Arena go because it was simply too slow. This deck's average mana cost is at 1.29 if one counts with that I play Force of Will for free, (which I always do) and Treasure Cruise for one, that i do 90% of the time. This deck really winns on its tempo. I've had winning games on turn 5 multiple times, but usually around turn 6. Phyrexian Arena is a very good card but it is also heavy on the Hp. When i was running Phyrexian Arena combined with Bitterblossom against an aggro deck I ended up killing myself at turn 4 or 5. I am running 4 Thoughtseize and 8 Fetch lands so something heavy on the Hp wasn't what I needed. In the end i decided to go with Gitaxian Probe instead of Phyrexian Arena.

about Bad Moon which also has been in the deck. This deck has changed a lot it was from the beginning a very mana light aggro deck. This deck used 4 Bad Moon and 4 Favorable Winds, but it really lacked against anything control. Slowly but surely this deck changed towards control-ish and when I made it a delver deck i had a breakthrough. Now it is able to handle a control deck and keeps its high tempo. In the process Bad Moon had to go and later also Favorable Winds. If I ever where to use more enchants to buff up my faeries I would go with Favorable Winds which fits the deck better than Bad Moon, since it also buffs my opponent's cards.

You are absolutely right that Scion of Oona can sometimes do more bad than good. But the point of this deck is to win before that happens. Bitterblossom is my major source of attack power in this deck and if it comes to that I need to remove it, I am almost definitely lost already. I simply value more keeping Bitterblossom safe over all, rather than being able to remove it in a tight situation.

In my sideboard you can find the card Mistbind Clique when I run that card in the deck I tend to use Favorable Winds instead of Scion of Oona. Because then I have a backup source of attack power and an additional way of removing Bitterblossom with Mistbind Clique's champion ability.

As of Dark Confidant it is just too risky. I using 4 Force of Will with a CMC of 5 and 3 Treasure Cruise with a CMC of 8. It would be devastating if I were to lose 5 or even 8 hp just like that.

I will definitely consider Umezawa's Jitte and your words about Deathrite Shaman, i will do some testing. :)

You're critique was very constructive and thoughtful. Thank you so much!

Feel free to ask if ever need some help with your decks. I'd be happy to be useful. :)

+1 for the refreshing take on a BUG Delver list.

Seeing as you asked for help on your sideboard and looking it over I see what you mean I'll give you some ideas to help out.

Virtue's Ruin is an option for your death and taxes, white weenie match ups... though you could also use Pernicious Deed and get very similar results.

You only need one or two Mistbind Clique in your sideboard as you already run Abrupt Decay main board. Speaking of I'd try and find a way to manhandle your side board AD into your main board.

Pithing Needle or Phyrexian Revoker are almost needs at this point for stopping unwanted walker hate... though I prefer needle over revoker for its ability to hit lands and shut down wasteland... the revoker can stop mana abilities such as those found on Lion's Eye Diamond which enables a great many combo decks.

You NEED grave hate of some kind... and I mean more than Deathrite Shaman. Dredge kinda will laugh at this deck... push it over and steal its lunch money without it. Tormod's Crypt, Grafdigger's Cage, Surgical Extraction, Extirpate, and Relic of Progenitus are all valid options here.

Sower of Temptation is a good sideboard card for sneak show, reanimator, stifflenough, and the new manifest eldrazi. It's an enter the battlefield ability meaning it can target emrakul and make the eldrazi god your faerie's little plaything.

Hydroblast or Blue Elemental Blast can be quite useful when facing down a Blood Moon and as you have a grand total of zero basic lands in your main board that would essentially shut you down then and there.

Flusterstorm or Mindbreak Trap as well as Stifle can shut down storm decks and should be highly considered when looking at sideboarding.

Those are just some basic suggestions for what to sideboard for some of the more popular deck archetypes that are floating around. It is more a matter of what's meta in your area... but if you have something to answer everything than the meta isn't as much a problem.

Standstill, Ancestral Vision, and Sensei's Divining Top are all valid options for replacing Treasure Cruise.

Also yes Tarmogoyf is better than Scion of Oona but you already know I wasn't a fan of the Scion

SAKANA-CHAN says... #23

Thank you Rythven-Fang i'll do some testing. I just fear that Ancestral Vision is to slow. I need to have it out before turn 3 to be able to use it at all... Sensei's Divining Top is also a really good card but i am not sure about how it could really replace TC... Standstill seems very interesting. Do you think it will outperform Dig Through Time? DTT has instant speed you know...

Thanks so much for the feedback!

Have a good night!

Standstill used to be a staple in faeries prior to Treasure Cruise and Ancestral Vision came out. I would still actually recommend Standstill over visions and would greatly recommend it over Dig Through Time especially if you are serious about the Tarmogoyf.

The reason the still is so good is because of Bitterblossom. You will continue to generate threat while your opponent either has to let you draw and gain card advantage or continue to generate that field advantage.

Ancestral Vision is a little slower than Treasure Cruise but not by much. The problem with it is it's less useful late game.

Sensei's Divining Top is useful all game through but isn't just simple card draw... it's continuous filtering and allows you to gain card advantage though precise use of fetchlands in conjunction with bad top spins, of the three it is both the best and worst option as it requires you to know what you are doing with it.

Rythven-Fang i have a question... This deck's graveyard piles up really fast. This was a good combination with TC. Do you know another card except for Dig Through Time that makes use of your graveyard. It feels like such a waste having so much resources there, but not being able to use them....
