A dull red fog creeps over the quite, sleeping village of Ashmont. Clouds slowly roll across the night sky, hiding the once starry night. A bright red full moon teases behind dark red clouds. In the middle of the village square, a dark shimmery shape begins to materialize out of the fog. A dark, demonic, and evil looking gate slowly rises through the fog. As the gate fully resolves its shape blocks half of Mount Tomeshire, a dormant volcano, on the horizon. The black gate stands its ground inactive through the course of the night. As daylight breaks the darkness, the village stirs with activity. A huge crowd has formed around the gate to investigate. The gate has every one baffled and talking about what it could be and where it came from. A little child no older then six years of age slips free from his parents and walks up to the gate to investigate. As he gets close the gate starts to hum and glow with an eerie red glow. As the gate starts to glow a lock forms out of the light, the little child walks up to the lock and touches it. Suddenly the sun vanishes in darkness as a red moon blocks out its light. The child screams out in pain as the lock falls to the ground and dissipates into dark shadows, the lock is now gone but so is the child's hand. Thunder claps loudly over then near horizon and the ground shakes violently as the doors swing wide open. A single giant of a man, with great wings and a giant scythe, walks through the now open gate. He looks down at the child and smiles, "Thank you child for allowing me to once again come home to the realm of Innistrad." He takes his great scythe and with one swing cuts the child in half at the waist. He smiles and laughs like a crazed man. Lifting his scythe to the sky he says, "lets have fun my friends," and an army of demons march through the gate. People run in chaos as demons butcher their friends and family left and right. "You all are nothing but worms and maggots compared to us demons, you are only useful for one thing, food!" "I Rakdos, Lord of Riots will single handedly burn this land to the ground!"
