Honor of the Pure and maybe also Fiend Hunter or Banisher Priest for more O-ring tricks

I don't want too many o-ring tricks as it takes away from what the deck is trying to do. Absolutely great fun, but not really necessary.

infinitemana Priest doesn't do tricks.

I dont see how your trick works the stack and battlefield are two different zones so for either of Oblivion Ring s abilityies to work it would have to get off of the stack i.e. be in the actuall battlefield. The other question is weather Flickerwisp can target perments on the stack. The wording looks like it can, but I just don't know.

Eric1827, the Oblivion Ring isn't on the stack when the trick is done. Oblivion Ring's ability is a triggered ability that triggers when O-ring enters the battlefield. Therefore, the Oblivion Ring is on the battlefield whilst the ability is on the stack.

As for your second question, Flickerwisp can only target permanents. Permanents exist only on the battlefield. Anything on the stack is a spell.

I second Mirran Crusader . Some other D&T decks I've seen run Student of Warfare and Stonecloaker . The latter seems interesting with flickering and whatever and also as a 3/2 flying for 3. Also, Leonin Relic-Warder in the sideboard for affinity and stuff.

Ohh sorry I am so brain hurt... so lets see If I got this right. All of the etb abilities resolve seperatly from the spells themselves.

Eric1827 Yes, Oblivion Ring and Flickerwisp resolve and leave the stack, thus entering the battlefield, then their ETB abilities trigger and go on the stack separately.

Thanks I'm making a modern blink deck with Detention Sphere and Oblivion Ring in it. btw how do you do that to your username??

You need an upgraded account, which costs $5.

if you're looking to shut down affinity go for Kataki, War's Wage it works every time

Affinity may well be a problem, but I am sideboarding Aura of Silence for it.

I worry that Aura of Silence may be too slow to actually stop affinity. If you play it on turn 3, most of their cards are already on the field, if not all of them. I think that VampireArmy is right; Kataki, War's Wage is a better option.

my argument for Kataki, War's Wage is that in my white weenie build, i side him in against affinity, I've gone entire games without him, top-decked him and straight won on that alone. they have to sac everything that would give them the win. sue it doesn't hit enchantments but it doesn't need to as Thalia already somewhat does that. at least test it out, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Blind Obedience against artifact decks, blink decks and those brining in creatures off AEther Vial plus of course you can extort as a bonus

Kittacus says... #16

Yep, the Kataki, War's Wage seems much better then!

I would lower the amount of Aven Mindcensor and Leonin Arbiter . You have six slots for an ability that doesn't really need to be mainboarded at all.

infinitemana says... #18

Oh, and I replace Rebuff the Wicked for Brave the Elements , it does the same thing unless they're targeting one of your enchantments or the vial, but can also make your whole team unblockable.

Kittacus says... #19

Yeah, that does seem better. What would you suggest putting in in their stead?

Try Suture Priest . He synergises nicely with a lot of cards in here such as Flickerwisp (the Wisp ETB, you gain 1 and a card is exiled, the exiled card returns and opponent loses 1 life), and you saw what could happen if he was on the field when I pulled off that stunt with Restoration Angel and Flickerwisp when playing with this deck.
