Maybeboard

The souped-up version of my wizard tribal deck. The idea is to hold down the fort control-wise while I ramp until I can dump a heap of mana into either Memnarch (preferably with Prophet of Kruphix), Mirror Entity, a counter-lock with Venser, Shaper Savant, Mystic Snake or Glen Elendra Archmage+ Sage of Fables, or a Laboratory Maniac/Psychosis Crawler combo. While the deck aims to be reasonably competitive, I've also tried to keep a bit of an original slant to it, rather than just going for Bant goodstuff.dec.

The deck is packed full of utility creatures with great ETB and control effects, as well as plenty of ways to both reuse them and search them out. Birthing Pod combined with Derevi is a fantastic, reusable tutor for 4-drops; some of which are great utility creatures on their own (Venser, Shaper Savant, Archaeomancer, Glen Elendra Archmage), while others can be podded into the 5-drops which provide some of my best utility, like Reveillark, Prophet of Kruphix, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, Azami, Lady of Scrolls and Karmic Guide (the Pod targets being Glen Elendra again and Solemn Simulacrum).

If the creatures die (many of them do only have little bodies), there are plenty of ways to get to use them again, including Reveillark, Eternal Witness, Sun Titan and Body Double. Blink effects like Venser, the Sojourner and Deadeye Navigator help us get even more value out of our ETB effects.

Once we get to the late game (i.e. have a bunch of mana) the win-conditions can come out. The simplest is just a straight-up beatdown with Mirror Entity - mana doublers like Mirari's Wake can allow you to even one-hit off commander damage with Derevi. Alternatively, you can drop Memnarch on the field and start stealing everyone's permanents. This is particularly effective with either Prophet of Kruphix or Seedborn Muse on the table. Stealing lands, while a bit of a douchebag move, will then allow you to steal even more stuff when the turn passes, aside from disabling your opponents.

Finally, there are a few ways you can combo out with Laboratory Maniac or Psychosis Crawler, the former possibly my favourite win ever printed. Reaching enough mana for Enter the Infinite shouldn't be very difficult, or alternatively Mind Over Matter paired with either Azami, Lady of Scrolls or Arcanis the Omnipotent will let you draw your entire deck. A bit more clunky, but pairing Derevi with Deadeye Navigator while Gilded Lotus is on the field will generate infinite coloured mana - this can be used with Memnarch or Mirror Entity, or can also be dumped into Sphinx's Revelation to draw the entire library. Finally, my favourite jank win - Tooth and Nail into Lboratory Maniac and... Leveler. It may only ever happen once, but the look on everyone's face should be worth it!
