Mardu walkers with a suite of control.

This deck is largely similar to Sean Evans list, although I was already running a list just like it. Mardu walkers isn't easily flexible, but his inclusion of 3 Brimaz main was interesting. I went for it, and it's a good choice. 2 Angers main wasn't my plan, but it does help hose mana-dorks and the occasional Mantis. His SB options were easy to understand and similar to what I already had in mind.

With FRF coming in soon, I'm looking to modify the deck.

With the spoilers from FRF coming up, I will be looking at revisions to the deck.

First up, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon was revealed.

8 CMC Walker that drops and either does 1 of 2 things:

+2 for Bolt, or -X to board wipe at a multitude of different levels. -7 is going to demolish just about everything on the board, including everything you might have, but it is (arguably) a better Perilous Vault. On top of that, it at minimum leaves Ugin behind to start bolting assuming he isn't dead as soon as he hits the board.

His ultimate is almost a guaranteed win, but I doubt anyone wants to play him for his ult unless you're already winning.

He does what Elspeth/Anger/Hostilities already do, but also nabs non-creature permanents as well. Vault does the same thing, but leaves behind nothing. But it gets colorless permanents as well. Yet it can be done on turn 5 vs. turn 8.

Play testing will be the only real way to determine his usefulness, but so far I'm skeptical.

Update: Two new spoilers of which are interesting for this deck just dropped.

Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury:

At the very least, this is a decent replacement for SBD once it rotates out (which won't be for a while). Currently, it could be another 5CMC choice between Sarkhan/SBD. The dash ability makes it less susceptible to sorcery speed control, and it's anthem is nice if there is a 3CMC dragon to replace Brimaz with. However, it is not pro-white which is almost essential in standard. It does not have haste if you actually cast it, and it lacks SBD's monstrous ability which can close out a game.

Again, skeptical.

Next up is Outpost Siege:

Doubt it'll be included now, but a replacement for Chandra Pyromaster once she rotates out (again, not for a while).

Khans mode would be our choice here, and while it can suck to exile that thing you need but don't quite have the mana for it's still decent draw power. It's also not as easy to be rid of like a walker.

So far the spoilers are looking good, but they just need a pinch of power.

Update 2: One thing to consider with the newest wave.

Archfiend of Depravity:

Good SB choice when going against tokens. Really all I have to say about it.
