Catgroove: The sequence can be quite tricky. I needed it explained to me as well. Here is the answer lithiumbrigadebait gave me on reddit when I first asked about it.

"Cast gush, returning two islands. Assume your hand is now LED and Gitaxian Probe. (Replay one of the islands if you can/need to)

Cast LED but don't crack it.

Cast Gitaxian Probe AND MAINTAIN PRIORITY. Crack LED for BBB with Probe on the stack. LED activated ability resolves; you now have no hand and three mana floating.

Gitaxian Probe resolves. You now have a Yawgwill in hand and three mana floating.

Cast Yawgwill.

Recast LED from yard and crack for UUU.

Recast Probe from yard, drawing Lab Man. Cast Lab Man.

Recast Gush from yard, winning."

I will post my hermit druid version as soon as I finish it :-)

Ok I see what you're doing there. I understood the whole replaying stuff part with Yawgmoth's Will, I just was trying to figure out how you started it past Gush. Thanks for the explanation. Also I've been looking at both of your Sidisi decks, and need to admit that those Food Chain combos are brutal.

Don't try and play this deck at a casual table, or while playing Planechase on top of it. You will get focused. Personal experience. :P

If it helps, this site shows you a couple of Doomsday stacks you can use:

Oh god Tolluf you tried using this at a Planechase? Bet you lasted all of 5 turns. Even without the windfall effects, just having this commander out is enough to get hate from any blue player.

Tolluf: I mean, if you play this deck period, you should expect to become the Archenemy. Leovold is powerful, and nixes a lot of other high-level decks that rely on drawing cards (even if a wheel never resolved).

Daedalus19876: Only exception to that is if you never played him and just had the bureaucrat there to guide you through political decisions. In fact....Might have to start brewing a Politics.dek in BUG just to use this idea.

My comment was meant as a light-hearted story about what I experienced. In no way was the evening unfun and it's a fun challenge to have the game be 3v1. Didn't help that Leo is kind of the hard counter to one of the other decks that was present at the table, Niv-Mizzet.Fun you should say that Lilbrudder, I am currently building a Sharuum deck besides getting the final cards for Leovald. xD

I've always had a soft spot for artifact decks, only infinite I include in mine is the gravestorm one. Rest is value and resilience :)

Lilbrudder, I understand how your no mana Doomsday stack works. My question is how are you drawing the Gush? Once Doomsday resolves, don't you need a cantrip or some other means to draw the Gush?

Lilbrudder says... #13

You are correct. I do need something to start the pile if I want to win the turn I cast it. That is why I have Ponder, Preordain, Brainstorm and other cheap draw effects in the deck.

And what's winter orb for?

September 6, 2016 10:19 a.m.

Tolluf says... #16

With the amount of mana dorks and ramping artifacts, this deck is, most likely, less affected than your opponents. A surprise winter orb from something like Transmute Artifact or Tezzeret can cripple opponents from interacting with the combo or hand-locks.

Tolluf is correct. It is a card that slows my opponents down way more than me. It also makes it easier to get my wheels through since opponents have to choose between advancing their board state or stopping me. My deck runs an extremely tight curve and I have alot of mana rocks and mana dorks. If I manage to get an early Sol Ring or Mana Crypt I can cast Leo then play Winters Orb the same turn. The following turn I can use my mana rock and the one land that untaps to play a wheel. I dont play alot of stax effects, but Winters Orb fits nicely within the deck and gives me more Transmute Artifact and Tezzeret the Seeker targets.

Okay, so I finally forced myself to go BUG. I'm currently using the same mana base as yours. I often times find myself lacking green mana to cast a dork on turn 1. Do you experience the same problem?

That is the only flaw I have encountered so far. The deck is otherwise ridiculously awesome. I took the LabMan combo out because I hate "you win the game" cards. Currently trying an approach which relies more on land hate to maintain board control while searching for the Puzzle Box. I'm enjoying it so far. Sorry I can't upvote this deck twice.

Lilbrudder says... #19

Suprisingly it has not been a problem for me but it has been something I was concerned with. I could esily get by with 6 island so I may cut a couple for more green on turn 1. Since you don't use labman there is no need to have islands for Gush. I would cut at least 4-6 for dual lands. Im glad you are enjoying the deck and thank you for suggesting Wheel and Deal a while back.

Speaking of 100 upvotes...congratulations! This deck is terrifying (in a good way) and definitely deserves its fame/notoriety.

(Incidentally, I've never seen a deck rocket up to #1 and +100 within three weeks of it being posted. Quite an impressive accomplishment!)

Thanks buddy! All I can honestly say is that Leo is a bad man. The deck pretty much build itself.

I've slowly been building my own version of the deck that now resembles much of your high tide version of the deck. Will be testing that build in the future and see if it's worth running the high tide package. Sadly it will take time as EDH ain't that big where I live.

Quick question. Could i substitute timetwister with time spiral? Or is timetwister just too essential?

September 16, 2016 3:54 p.m.

Tolluf says... #25

Timetwister is chosen to be more cost-effective than time spiral. You're not wrong to substitute it with time spiral, in some builds it might be better than the twister if you run a shell with some support to High Tide.
