I like the idea for your deck, but I feel like a few little improvements could be made. Notably, I would either make your 1-ofs 2-ofs or take them out. I understand that you're running devotion, but you're running so many permanents as is that you can get by without Arbor Colossus . I'd drop him for another Colossus of Akros or Garruk, Caller of Beasts to bump up your number of wincons a bit, particularly with the stupid amounts of ramp you can get with Karametra's Acolyte and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx . On that note, even though it is legendary land, one more copy of Nykthos will rarely be an issue, and you'll be able to draw into it more frequently.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yea most of the 1x are fillers due to lack of cards at the moment. I have an aquireboard for this deck that has 3x reverent hunters, 2x vastwood hydras 2x kalonian hydra, and 3x Garruk, Caller of beasts. I have everything but the Garruks ordered from amazon.

Polukranos, World Eater couldn't hurt as a pseudo-boardwipe.

Agreed, I have def considered this one as well.

I made the same deck a while back. Shadow of the Colossus. I would suggest 2 more Garruk, Caller of Beasts (you'll need him to keep the deck moving once you've hit your devotion mana), and at least one more Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx .

Polukranos, World Eater is a definite yes since you'll be paying in 20+ mana into his monstrosity to wipe your opponents board and swinging for terminal.

Don't drop Arbor Colossus , he's the best devotion creature in your deck and your only defense to flyers, (bonus: he shuts down Stormbreath Dragon )

Biggest problem you're going to run into is control decks (devotion is great, but it's a house of cards), and I've been trying to build a sideboard to defend my creatures. Alpha Authority ,Oak Street Innkeeper ,Pithing Needle , and Savage Summoning is what I have so far.

Those sre some really great cards for a sideboard thanks. Im considering putting Rootborn Defenses in mine. I can cast those with sylvan caryatid and throw in nylea's prescence for decks with mass removal.

I have a similar deck, and have found that completing the playset for Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is almost absolutely required, and have you tried Karametra's Acolyte ? She is a Nykthos on a stick, and very helpful as well.

Check out my deck RUG Green Devotion.

I just removed Karametra's Acolyte I've found that the Voyaging Satyr combo is just as effective but this is just gonna be a test run the acolytes may find there way back in. There are so many great ways to run this deck and unfortunately u gavent got enough room for all the goodies lol.

another Garruk, Caller of Beasts and 2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx are probably needed as they are just too good to pass up in this kin of deck!
also you really shouldn't main board Naturalize , it really is a sideboard card....
Also i can find a way in your deck for you to get white mana, but you have Rootborn Defenses in there...how are you going to cast it?

November 26, 2013 5:36 a.m.

I have Nylea's Presence sideboard as well to get the white mana I need. I've mainboard Naturalize for one reason and the is Whip of Erebos, Hammer of Purphosos etc. and Ratchet Bombs which can wreak havoc on this deck. Im only running 2 Nykthos so that im not holding on to three of them the entire game I,ve not had any trouble with running just 2 most everything in my deck is cheap enough to get out with basic land early on. Thanks for the comment.

Burning-Tree Emissary is amazing for ramping that green devotion early and getting some pressure onto the board

November 26, 2013 4:25 p.m.

Yes definitely true but it was either this or Voyaging Satyr and I opted fit the satyr

I would pick the Voyaging Satyr 's too if i had to pick one, but you should take out the Naturalize . Naturalize is more of a side-board card and in most games having a Burning-Tree Emissary in hand is going to be much more aggressive and more pressurising

INatualuze has saved my butt so much from whips and bombs that I kept it main it was originally sideboarded mist of mt early creturea are 2 drops and I usually have up to five by turn five and I have been board wiped by bombs with two counters on them a lot and even with.a mirror match it comes in very handy for bows and the other god weapons

Just want to mention that you can't cast Rootborn Defenses anymore, so i would recommend Mending Touch in its place.

November 30, 2013 10:54 p.m.

Why can't I cast it

Do u see any caryatids because i dont.

Now how do u remove comments. soz bro, although i dont see why u would run Nylea's Presence

December 1, 2013 2:20 a.m.

Just to cast rootborn defenses against decks that use a lot of mass removal I have used the combo several times since I made the deck and its all good man

December 1, 2013 3:16 a.m.

Plus its the only thing in standard other than caryatids I can think of lol

What? No Kalonian Hydra !?

December 1, 2013 4:51 a.m.

Oh yes its coming I often get miscutter hydra out in the 40s and being able to double.the counters over and over as soon as I can afford.to it will be in there somehow

December 1, 2013 5:32 a.m.

Reverent Hunter, Mistcutter Hydra, Arbor Colossus, and Kalonian Hydra would all get buffed from that inclusion it is def an addition.

December 1, 2013 6:16 a.m.

Placed top 4 again with this build. Very proud of this deck.

The shout out is very appreciated! and congrats on your success. +1 from me. Check out my latest brew, I'm taking it to the Star City Open in Baltimore on Jan 25-26, let me know what you think. I took the mono green and splashed red. It plays so well. I think you will like it! Confidence
