I like the Devotion to Black deck.I've started to add some green for birthing pod and possible for some utility spells at a later time.The thought is:Chaining to Gray Merchant should get him out relatively quick. Your other creatures are not traditional ETB creatures but are potential problems for your opponents. If you have a few creatures out and chain into Gray Merchant you should gain some life and keep chaining to Massacre Wurm (for extra reach) and perhaps Sheoldred, Whispering One if I add her later.

Also the Devition lands can get you to a lot of mana, enough to cast (with Phyrexian Green Mana) a second birthing pod to chain twice.
