DGM: Super Ramp

Standard GWUB Ramp

PONYCRAP

Sideboard

Enchantment (3)

Super ramp is an archetype of deck building that is little explored in this day and age. With the introduction of Dragon's Maze to Standard, dedicated ramp decks are provided with a new, reliable win-con in Debt to the Deathless. While this may initially seem like a joke in constructed, draining your opponent for twenty or more life on turn five tends to conjure an audience at Friday Night Magic. So does amassing 14 permanent mana by turn four, or Sphinxing for 11 before the opponent can cast their Thragtusk on curve. The above list features all these impressive feats and others, while maintaining a competitive, controlling shell with built-in back-up plans for counter spells.

An ideal play for the deck follows.

T1: Land. Plain and simple.

T2: Land, Farseek. Three mana total, normal play for the format.

T3: Land, Ranger's Path. Six mana total.

T4: Land, Boundless Realms, 14 mana total.

T5: Untap and cast something massive. This could be a Debt for lethal, an unkillable and uncounterable Aetherling, or a Sphinx's Revelation of unfair proportions.

Please comment and pick apart the list as much as physically possible. As usual, do not hesitate to question seemingly stupid card choices or the meaning of life.
