This started out as my very first deck. But I tweaked it, and nurtured it, and loved it, until it became as monstrous and mean as my own heart.

The deck revolves around using Noxious Ghouls, and Call to the Grave to control the population of the opposition. Some type of removal is almost a requirement for a black deck, and Murder fits the bill nicely. Gempalm Polluter is cycled constantly to reduce the opponent's life, bypassing damage prevention, and Unholy Grotto keeps it on top of the library. The Gray Merchant of Asphodel can fill the bill of a Gempalm Polluter and creature at the same time. Hardcasting, swinging, and then bringing it back out with a Gravedigger can make it a tough customer!

Cemetery Reaper is a fantastic Zombie Lord, and so is Undead Warchief : he boosts Zombies and makes them cheaper at the same time. The Cemetery Reaper 's secondary ability in conjunction with Noxious Ghouls can be brutal, and a board-sweeper against smaller creatures.

Rancid Rats is an outstanding early-game blocker, and if necessary can be popped back out with a Gravedigger. Gravespawn Sovereign can be moved into the mainboard to pull creatures right out of a graveyard, regardless of whose graveyard it is. I have actually used Gravespawn Sovereign to pull Akroma out of a graveyard and into my control!

This is a subtly-aggressive deck: once the Noxious Ghoul gets going, or even worse if two are on the board, nothing non-Zombie lasts for very long. It pretty much draws all the irritation of all the other non-Zombie players.
