Hi everyone!

I've been tweaking a mono black curse/control deck that I've seen floating around for a while. I took this deck to SCG night and went 1-2, (0-2 Temur Energy, 1-2 Ramp, Budget Pirates 2-0).

The objective with this deck is to start removing cards from our opponent's hand early and often. We try to disrupt their possible plays while comfortably keeping threats off the board between discard and removal. Win conditions are centered around Torment of Scarabs and Torment of Hailfire. We keep them with no cards in hand and bleed them with Torment of Scarabs or we can make HUGE late game pushes with Torment of Hailfire. Either way, the weakest point of this deck is often we CAN NOT win the game without drawing these cards at opportune times. We have a handful of creatures that help our cause, Kitesail Freebooter for disruption and maybe a few point of damage, Gifted Aetherborn for a tough drop with deathtouch and lifesteal (Great for big dinos and the absolute shit ton of carnage tyrants in my current meta), Dreamstealer for helping the discard cause and helping out late game by eternalizing for a 4/4 with menace, and lastly Gonti, Lord of Luxury for utility and again for death touch.

I feel like the record doesn't do the deck justice as it put my opponent against the ropes every single game. That being said, I've found that its biggest flaw is its inability to close out the game. After bleeding them dry, with late game mana all it takes is one big creature of the top deck to steal the game from me. The deck was popular and drew a lot of attention (Gonti grabbed a carnage tyrant with a handful of spectators, that was pretty f*cking sweet), and the general feedback was that with a little bit of work this deck could be pretty serious. I had a couple guys suggest splashing blue for Glimmer of Genius or Pull from Tomorrow for card draw. Alternatively, I've thrown in a couple of Arguel's Blood Fast to fill that terrible hole that Ob Nixilis Reignited left after rotation.

I'm looking to run this again, I feel like with a little better luck (or card draw!) I could have easily won all three matches from last SCG.

Please help me out with this list and let me know what you think: This is my first build and post on tappedout and I'm not against splashing at all! Thanks for giving it a look.
