MINION.
Look for opportunities throughout the game to shut down Opponent plays with Dispel or Negate.
Hold off playing important permanents until you have enough mana up to also cast Negate or Dispel, to protect them.
Keep in mind if an Opoonent has a key Non-Creature or Creature spell, and try to hang on to Negate and/or Essence Scatter to stop those hitting the battlefield.
Early Game
- Interrupt Opponent's tempo with Fatal Push, Grasp of Darkness, and Essence Scatter.
Mid Game
Murder any large threats.
Board wipe with Yahenni's Expertise.
Look for an opportunity to cast Glimmer of Genius on your Opponent's end step.
Start doing some beat down with Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet.
Late Game
Look for an opportunity to cast Torrential Gearhulk on Opponent's declare blocker's phase, or if you need to flash back a spell like Negate. Then beat down with Torrential Gearhulk.
Animate Wandering Fumarole to either defend a Planeswalker, or speed up the beat down plan.
Use the first ability of Ob Nixilis Reignited to draw into cards you need. His second ability is useful to get rid of large threats, in a pinch. As soon as he get to 8 loyalty counters, use his ultimate to get an Emblem.
Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh can be used to try to cast an Opoonent's most threatening card, to empty their hand, or to finish the game with his third ability.
WIN CONDITIONS
Beat down with Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, Torrential Gearhulk, and Wandering Fumarole. Might also get another Creature from Nicol Bolas' first ability.
Constant damage with Ob Nixilis Reignited Emblem.
Final damage from Nicol Bolas' third ability.
LANDS
The lands have been weighted to let and cards be cast from Turn 2 onwards.
isn't necessary until Turn 7, or Turn 5 if Dark Intimations is Sided in, so there is just a splash of that.
Disallow allows you to have extra Control options.
Essence Scatter gives you an extra chance to Counter a key threat.
Liliana, the Last Hope puts your Opponent on a faster clock.
Negate gives you both an extra chance to Counter a key threat, and helps you win stack wars against Control decks.
Hour of Devastation gives you more board wipes.
