Turn 1: Mountain, Springleaf Drum , Ornithopter , tap Ornithopter and drum for red, play Akroan Crusader , tap crusader to convoke Crowd's Favor targeting crusader, which produces a token with haste that you can attack with!. I know that this is assuming you have the PERFECT starting hand, but... you see where I'm going with this.

Another reason for the drum is, I have so many 1 drops in this deck that the ability to produce an extra mana here and there is always useful.

I'd say take out a Trumpet Blast to add in a land. At 18 land, you're going to struggle to get out the Phoenix, even if he is a morph card. I would suggest 19-20 mountain, and I would also suggest more burn. Magma Jet and finishing the playset of Lightning Strike could greatly aid you in getting their life to 0 as quickly as possible.

I've been debating whether or not to add more burn spells. I will give them a test run. As far as the land goes, I have been having the problem of getting too much land in this deck as it is, I am good with 18. About 70% of this deck can run off 2 lands. The main problem I have with mono red is there are not many cards to help give you card advantage. That's more a blue/black/green thing. The [Prophetic Flamespeaker] helps a bit. Thank's for your input, [buildingadeck]

I can't state enough how awesome Monastery Swiftspear is! I did a test run where I play Swiftspear turn 1, then attack for 1. On turn 2, I enchant Swiftspear with Dragon Mantle - prowess kicks in, I draw a card, then attack with Swiftspear, play Titan's Strength - prowess kicks in again, Swiftspear is now a 6/5. Opponent is now at 13... Ouch.

I would use Coordinated Assault over Crowd's Favor , can give up to two creatures the same ability and cost the same amount.

I prefer the Crowd's Favor because of the convoke ability. I can drop an Akroan Crusader turn one and convoke Crowd's Favor to get a token with haste to attack with. I will test the Coordinated Assault though and see how it works. Thanks for the suggestion!

I prefer Flame-Wreathed Phoenix to Ashcloud Phoenix , but that could just be me.

I will consider the Flame-Wreathed Phoenix however, the Ashcloud Phoenix allows me to use the ferocious ability on Crater's Claws and Dragon Grip .

i personally prefer Valley Dasher the war name, you don't have to want to wait to put him out and he has haste, or perhaps Mogis's Warhound

You're right, those are both faster than the War-Name... I'm torn between the haste and the bestow... I think the Mogis's Warhound would be better for early game and as a spell to target Akroan Crusader later. I have enough 1 drops that the Dasher's haste most likely won't be needed. Thanks for the suggestions, Keegan8or

Thank you for the suggestions, Coordinated Assault is a good card and I am still undecided as to how it works over Trumpet Blast . So far, I have been quite happy with Trumpet Blast (still testing it though) I don't run Rouse the Mob simply because it's too expensive(CMC) to use for it's strive cost. In this quick deck, it would only be used on 1 creature at a time, and I can do the same or better with what I have. Hammerhand is nice, but even though it's common I don't actually have any! Time to swing by my local card shop! As far as the deck price goes, Stoke the Flames is only a $4 card and Crater's Claws is only $1. The most expensive card in the deck is the Ashcloud Phoenix @ $6 and I only run 2 of them. I still consider this deck budget as it still clocks in around $50.

I feel that Coordinated Assault is better than Trumpet Blast . It is 1 mana, instead of 3 (which I feel is very important in a mono-red deck). It targets, therefore activates heroic on Akroan Crusader . I run four in my mono-red and the biggest advantage it has is the first strike it gives. Neither card adds any toughness, but the first strike will help ensure your creature kills their blocker when it otherwise would have been the other way around or a trade.
Good luck, I love how mono-red is looking so far this standard!

Added Circle of Flame to the sideboard for some defense against a mirror match or other aggro decks.

Hmmm...
I'm not on board with every card you've picked, but you've got some interesting ideas here. I don't feel that Ashcloud Phoenix or the spells with ferocious work without a higher land count. The flamespeakers, on the other hand, I like here. Also, in Crowd's Favor versus Coordinated Assault , assault wins. Convoke is nice, but assault is a crowd's favor with a crowd's favor stapled to it. It's hard to pass up double effect. I think going all-out on the flamespeakers would be cool, but you'd want nineteen mountains, or maybe twenty to help take advantage of their card exile effect and Dragon Mantle 's power, which is amazing on a double striker.
Here's a possibility.
19-20x Mountain
4x Akroan Crusader 4x Monastery Swiftspear 4x Mogis's Warhound 4x Prophetic Flamespeaker
4x Dragon Mantle 4x Hammerhand
That covers 47-48 cards. For the rest, consider Frenzied Goblin , Hall of Triumph , Coordinated Assault , Lightning Strike , Searing Blood , Trumpet Blast and Stoke the Flames , and for the sideboard there's all of those plus Eidolon of the Great Revel , Circle of Flame , Harness by Force and Peak Eruption .
On the other hand, if you want to go the phoenix plus ferocious route, I recommend a lot more land, and three to four each of the phoenix and the absurdly cool Stormbreath Dragon , with a full set of Crater's Claws .

Question, Springleaf Drum why use this in a mono red?
