Dig Your Own Grave

The Purpose

I have been on a quest to build a series of decks that win using each part of the board. For this, I wanted to win with the Graveyard. I wasn’t really sure what to do here, cause as far as I can tell, there isn’t really way to win the game using your own graveyard unless you involve direct combat, which isn’t what I’m going for. I did, however, find Immortal Coil, which is starting to get me in the right direction. So, what you do here is play Immortal Coil, give it to another player using one of the cards in this deck with that ability, then use Tormod's Cryptfoil to get an instant win.

Please make suggestions!! This is a pretty unexplored idea for me and I'm sure the research I put into this deck didn't even come close to showing me all the possibilities!! Any suggestions on what I currently have here are also very welcome.

Card Breakdown

AEtherflame Wall

  • A blocker. Pretty self explanatory. He has the ability to power himself up a little bit, but you probably won’t end up using it an awful lot. Still nice to have, though.

Bazaar Trader

  • This little goblin is essential. Use his ability to give people Immortal Coil so set up your win.
  • Makes for a pretty “bazaar” play. (I’m sorry)

Dimir House Guard

  • TUTOR FOR Immortal Coil!!!
  • I mean, also makes for an okay creature. That’s not what it’s here to do, though.

Eidolon of the Great Revel

  • Mostly here to try to slow down opponents spell casting while you get up to your shenanigans.

Harmless Offering

Immortal Coil

  • Here it is. The legendary Immortal Coil. The key to your victory. Once this card is in play, give it to your opponent, and then use Tormod's Cryptfoil on them for the win.
  • I wouldn’t use this for its intended purpose. You’ll die pretty quick.

Tormod's Cryptfoil

  • As stated previously, use this on your opponent as soon as you give them Immortal Coil. It’ll clear their graveyard right on out.

Vampiric Link

  • More stalling. Stick this onto an opponent's creature and it’ll pretty much shut off all the damage they do.

Victim of Night

  • Kills stuff.

Other Decks

I’m always looking for advice and suggestions on decks. Here’s some more of mine in the Modern format if you’re down to help me out!
