Win cons:

Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Curiosity or Ophidian Eye lets you tap Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind or use a draw spell and draw through your entire deck. Usually you will need to stop the combo at some point and cast Laboratory Maniac and another draw spell to win. If the damage isn't enough to kill everyone.

Mind Over Matter + Temple Bell mills everyone, again you discard Kozilek, Butcher of Truth to make it infinite.

It is also possible to win by having Teferi's Puzzle Box, Alhammarret's Archive or Mindmoil , and Windfall milling out your opponent or dealing lethal along with Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind or Psychosis Crawler.

Arjun, the Shifting Flame or Mindmoil + Psychosis Crawler or Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Alhammeret's Archive + any spell to trigger Arjun will allow you to kill everyone.

Draws:

This deck has pretty consistent draw. From my experience, most people won't let Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind stay on the battlefield for very long as a consistent draw because of the possibility of one of the Curiosity combos. Besides that, there is Arjun, the Shifting Flame / Mindmoil , Alhammarret's Archive, Teferi's Puzzle Box, Consecrated Sphinx, Dragonlord's Prerogative , Recurring Insight, Ancestral Vision, Brainstorm, Staff of Nin, Treasure Cruise,Mystic Remora, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Ponder, Preordain, Frantic Search. The Draw/Discard cards get better with Alhammarret's Archive.

Pure wheeling effects will come from Windfall

Protection:

The obvious protection is all of the counter spells. Other forms of protection are Propaganda, Blasphemous Act, Turn//Burn, Pongify, Cyclonic Rift, Evacuation, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, Chaos Warp, Maze of Ith, Torpor Orb, Ward of Bones

Controlling your draws:

Scroll Rack and Sensei's Diving Top are your main ways to control what you draw. Brainstorm, Jace,The Mind Sculptor, Ponder and Preordain are one off ways to control draws.

Side Notes:

Alhammeret's Archive is one of our biggest combo enablers in this deck. It isn't necessary but it sure makes our lives a lot easier. This is where Whir of Invention comes into play.

Whir of Invention is mainly used to get Alhammeret's Archive on the battlefield. 8 mana may seem like a lot for that but since we are in blue/red the only really reliable way you would be able to get Alhammeret's Archive would be Fabricate and then cast Alhammeret's Archive for 5 mana, totaling 8. The only difference being triple blue which is never an issue.

If Alhammeret's Archive ever gets destroyed we have Academy Ruins to return it back to our deck.
