In my opinion, the Consuming Aberration will not be worth the casting cost unless you find a more surefire way to get creatures into the graveyard to pump it up. 2x Phenax, God of Deception is not enough, and he is costly too. I suggest Breaking and/or Traumatize . Perhaps Jace, Memory Adept as well, though you want to be building that graveyard earlier than the fifth turn. Good luck. :-)

Check into Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker as well.

Ugh, i actually think that as long as you can get cards into someone's graveyard the Consuming Aberration will be annoying with Phenax, God of Deception . basically, at the end of opponent's turn tap aberration to double their graveyard.

i kinda like Psychic Strike to help boost their GY and add a little control. Breaking's good tho.

with the god out I can mil as much as I want but I left in two breaking incase I don't see the god.

counter spells shouldn't be a problem against most midrange/agro decks if I play my cards right.

There are a few good combos in this deck. But i don't really think that 4 planeswalkers is necessary... And I also think that you should throw in the Traumatize - Keening Stone combo. Keening stone is a 6 cost artifact with - 4 (tap) target player mills X where X is the number of cards in that players graveyard.

I like it. I think thassa would be solid if nothing else for the guaranteed scry and opens another win avenue in case it proves difficult to mill.

I'd play Drown in Sorrow over bile blight just because the blight only hits one creature md hurts you in mirror matches. At least with sorrow you hurt the typical aggro or token deck and most if not all your creature survive thanks to that 3 toughness.

i'll try it without the grey and add in thassa

also I switched the bile to sideboard for the drown in sorrow

Thassa didn't work out well... most the time just a dead card

took out a breaking to add another ashiok turns out she is a main player in this deck and a bigger threat then I thought.

Beat mono-blue by mostly just stealing it's devotion. and creature cards early game till desecration demon could come out then Phenax into CA for the win. both games.

Really need some input on this build if anyone can help me.

HappehNinja says... #17

You kind of need Nightveil Specter . It's a really strong card, and it can potentially win games if ignored.

Slitherhead and Hover Barrier aren't really needed. By now you have one slot left, use this slot for an additional Wall of Frost .

Breaking is pretty good, but there's much more interesting stuff that can be done. Why not add another Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and Hero's Downfall , or try Gray Merchant of Asphodel ?

I had the gray/nightveil in there took them out in favor of walls another ashiok and a elixir they proved to be too slow and the cost of all the high 5 drops slowed me down so much I was beaten todeath before I could do anything If I did not get the right hand.

HappehNinja says... #19

Then how about playing Drown in Sorrow main-deck instead of Breaking ?

January 25, 2014 8:56 p.m.

Rasir says... #20

breaking has saved me more times then hurt me and drown in sorrow is mostly for agro decks

January 25, 2014 9:06 p.m.

HappehNinja says... #21

Well, you just can aim for aggro decks alone. You either make your deck focused on your win-con, or you balance it.

January 25, 2014 9:21 p.m.

Rasir says... #22

I think I balanced it well

January 25, 2014 10:46 p.m.

HappehNinja says... #23

True. I guess the walls can hold-off aggro decks and mill-out other types of decks.

pretty much just played mono-white and mono- blue did well against both.

January 25, 2014 11:33 p.m.

Looks good. I can't think of any suggestions, so +1.
